Best Explorer ST 2022 exhaust just bought today

Just got the 2.5" Thermal R&D installed today and talk about a huge difference. The first cold start was amazing and is hardly noticeable at cruising speeds until you step on it.

Yes, that was one of the biggest reasons I went with Thermal R&D.

I drive approx 50 miles one way every day to work both 2 lane and Freeway. With new 3in R&D I'm in love. There is Absolutely no drone at 65 or 75. A slight drone hint at 85 though especially going up a hill. With my FENG off I can actually hear what it is supposed to sound like and it growls when you want it to. The trade-off for higher speed drone (although very mynute) is worth it imo.

agree with this. 75-85 has a small drone but turn up the radio a bit and its gone

The 3 inch is the exact same way you won't even notice it's there until you're on the gas

Sounds nice, I went Borla S and Steeda sway. What did you do to your taillights ? Really like the look.

Excellent setup. I have been running mine for the past 10k and no problems.
I just ordered the CV fab downpipes and cant wait to see how it opens it up.

Nope. Would like to but not sure I feel comfortable doing it. How about you?

The intercooler isnt bad, but you honestly have to remove the front tires.
I did mine one side at a time with a jack and no help.

I would hawever note that you should have a plan wor the shroud bottom rivets - if you dont have bolts there.
I used stainless steel rivet nuts and Rustoleum to protect the drilled out holes.

Start in the morning and with breaks, you'll be done by dinner.
Consider doing upgraded hot and cold charge pipes while you're in there - there will never be a better time.

ps, The fender bolt orientation was done by an a**hole, they tilt UPWARDS. Use universal joints and patience.

pps, Get some replacement wide zip ties from Home Depot to have a tight reinstall.

The intercooler seems to not be so hard it just seems very time consuming.

I found that the shroud that has either the bolts or the rivets at the bottom is held in place in so many other locations. I drilled the rivets out and didn't go back in with anything. To me, the biggest holder of that shroud is the bolts at the crash bar one both sides.

^ I feel like the bolts/rivets are far enough down, that something should be put back. Honestly the crash bar is over half a foot away, why introduce that much vibration?
