It sounds like you don't understand how a PCV system works. Do some research and it will make more sense.
LOL! A PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) system just controles the vaccum/pressure in the crankcase. A check valve in the valve cover and a hose running to the intake. Simple as that. What don't I understand? Old school just had a breather on the valve cover.

What you don't seem to understand is that a PCV system uses intake vacuum to continuously draw crankcase vapor out, and replace it with fresh air, during part throttle operation. This helps remove all kinds of bad things from the crankcase. Running a vented catch can completely defeats this. It still prevents positive crankcase pressure, but there is no extraction of contaminants. This is a huge step backwards in the long term aging of a street driven engine.
