Hey guys,
I was researching braces, bushings, and this thread came up. I have a single bolt 21 ST. I bought the Steeda urethane pinion bushing, JXB bushing insert, Steeda "ultimate bolt", DX Suspension diff brace, Steeda subframe bushing support kit. I am installing a mild Ford Motorsports tune, and Larger intercooler. I don't plan on beating on the car, just want a little better performance. My question is which of the diff. bushings, braces, support kit should I use based on your experiences? It sounds like making it too stiff has/can cause issues too. Also, don't want to add more noise/NVH to the vehicle, I've been chasing a high speed "moaning" for months.
thanks

Do not use the Steeda pinion bushings. They are horrible, do nothing, and have a high probability of breaking. Otherwise than that everything will do great, and improve performance. Shouldn’t add a whole lot of NVH.

From what i have seen ID Speed brace is the best for no noise. The AWR brace is less money and it seems like few to no complaints about it.

If you are tuned and they find out (which they will) it will void your warranty. I have not confirmed this but I was told there is language in their extended warranties that state they have the right to void the warranty if performance enhancing parts are used on the vehicle.
Yes it can and will void ur extended warranty.

I did read through the ESP terms and conditions and it says, “IF” the failure is caused by. . . They do have to prove that it caused the failure, however, it’s not hard for them to link a mod to the failure and then it’s up to you to prove them wrong. Good luck with that! Attorney fees alone will cost more than just paying to have it fixed. Say your differential fails and you have a brace on it. The dealer calls Ford, sends them pics, Ford denies warranty coverage and says the vehicle was modified to operate outside its normal limitations. Now it’s up to you to prove they are wrong. Court costs, attorney fees and months without the vehicle! And, you likely will not win because a lot of these mods, especially tunes, say “For off-road use only”. The best approach is to try to have a good relationship with your dealer and be ready to pay out-of-pocket for repairs.

Just curious as to what you are basing these statements on. I have them on my car along with the sub frame bushings and JXB insert with hardened bolt and can hear some small clunks at very low speeds especially when downshifting. Have been considering R&R the pinion bushings with new OEMs (which I have already) so curious as to your insight into your comments. TIA

There have been quite a few reviews, including the one in this thread, where they cause significant NVH. More then anything, I've seen more than a few failures of them, and Steeda blames the consumers instead of their poor engineering.
