All:

Has anyone had any experience with the Bluecruise system, perhaps on another vehicle since the ST doesn't have it yet ? I'm interested as to your thoughts on it, good, bad, other. Did you think it was a worthwhile driving assist ?

We have a 2022 Mach E, which came with 3 years of bluecruise. It's ok, I would say it's only worth it if you drive on the highway a majority of the time and suffer from driver fatigue easily.

I used Blue Cruise for the first time the other day in my 25 ST for about 50 miles. I was really impressed but probably will not sign up after my three month trial based on the $75/month pricing.

I've easily got over 30k miles of hands free BlueCruise over the past 3 years and needless to say I'm a fan. I travel for work and it really makes a difference on those long drives. Don't really use it much for the short highway commutes around town, but when I'm getting out of town it's a must for me (if vehicle is equipped)!

I really like my hands free on my 2024 F-150. It’s great for long road trips but cost way too much after the free trail expires.
Ford really should make this a standard without charging for use.

I’ve only used it on the test drive of the ‘25 ST but was impressed. The braking felt more human than Super Cruise.

As others have said, they really need to lower the price, GMC is at $25/month for Super Cruise and has a ton more roads including non-highway roads and auto-lane-change. $75($58 if you pay yearly) is ridiculous. I’m curious what the subscription rate is, I’m sure it would greatly increase if they just matched GMC. I love the feature a lot so I’m currently trying to decide if it’s worth it.

Whats the reason for the charge? Like all the hardware is already in the vehicle, why is this needing a subscription? Just curious I don't have Blue Cruise in my 2020 just adaptive cruise.

My assumption would be to help with the costs of adding more roads and features through updates. I can understand a subscription service to such a feature but it needs to be more in line with their competitors.

Sounds interesting, but that price tag is pretty steep.

They just lowered BC from $800 to $500
Still high. They gave me for free for 3 years in my 25ST but I’m not a fan. Having in the house is enough. Then Google is $80 a year. I would pref the cost of Alexa be totally free if you are a prime member and roll BC for 3-5 years.

Can I ask is SuperCruise and BlueCruise only usable on specific highways in Canada and US or is it any highway?

The 2025 ST is my 3rd Bluecruise vehicle. My 1st one was a Mach E....and was never able to use it before I dumped it. Then I had an F150 Platinum that had 1.0.....that was sketchy. 1.2 in the new Explorer is fantastic so far. I drive 60 miles each way to work and back everyday so it's a nice luxury. I'm diggin it

I absolutely love it! It's so damn accurate and I feel safe w it. Of course you have to watch out passing for unsafe drivers that drift into your lane. I haven't had that happen yet across the country on a 2500 mile trip but I wonder if it would move to the left.

I wonder if I asked them to extend ours for 3 years since we just purchased. Who would I even call since this isn’t a dealership thing but a Ford thing?

You can get the one time purchase they are offering if it is still available, but its like $2495 or something like that if you just bought it. When I bought mine I called Ford and was told there is a 14 day grace period so you might want to ask about that if they give ya any push back. I called the number in the Blue Cruise section in the ford Pass app and talked to them, then I had to call my dealer and ask them if I could get it. I bought mine like the day before the promotion so I said well that would be crappy if I can't still get it and then I joked and said I'm still with in the 7 day colling off period right? I can always return and repurchase LOL in the end because of the 14 day grace period I think they had no choice, so I now have blue Cruise for life or at least 7 years unless Ford Dumps it. The Key factor is that it says 7 years with no additional costs, so if they keep it going for 8 years or more I should still have it and be able to use it. Good Luck!

My 2025 Explorer ST has it and I hated it. I do not want to have something else controlling my vehicle. Too easy to let myself get distracted.

‘25 explorer st here.

i tried using BC multiple times over long road trips and i guess my seating position isn’t conducive. The system alerts me every 2-5 minutes to say hands on the wheel and im looking dead straight on the road. To be totally honest and fair, i also have dark tint on all the windows and i have mirror lense sunglasses. I guess the combination of all my factors doesn’t allow me to enjoy BC.

Well I think it uses infrared to see your eyes so not sure if those sunglasses will stop that or not. I also know there is a camera to your upper right in the black part that's inside in the middle of the windshield, there is a little camera there looking and recording you as well. I found out Blue Cruise doers not like heavy rain and sometimes depending on the road and the markings it will tell you to grab the wheel, however its pretty new system for the Explorer so I'm sure they will be doing more updates and mapping more roads better. I'm really surprised that Chevy does not let them buy road mapping from them as I heard they have more roads mapped but I guess its a competition thing. I love my BC and use it as much as I can, but yes it can be finicky at times. P.S. Also sometimes I catch myself covering up the sensor on the steering wheel with my arm when I'm gripping the top of the steering wheel so make sure your not accidentally doing that as well or it will tell you to grab the wheel.

Thats not BC causing that. That is your regular asst cruise control. You remove your eyes from the road or it doest sense you holding the wheel. It will haunt you every 15secs or so till you do.
