Borla Exhaust Upgrade

I don't have this one, but I installed the Borla on my Jeep SRT in my driveway. Not sure what's involved in this the hardest part of that install was having to cut off the old mufflers. My guess is this is a simple bolt on the only issue is probably clearance under it unless you have access to a lift.
it looks like the installation is pretty simple.. but again, i gotta say it, it would be cheaper to have an exhaust shop make and install one for you.. the borla one is awesome and everything, but it involves buying it, getting it shipped, and then either installing it or paying someone to install it.. i just couldn’t bring myself to deal with all that.. and it was never a money issue.. it’s more of a principle for me..

Ford Performance doesn't "make" any aftermarket exhaust systems - they are put out by vendors. They have traditionally used Borla for some kits on earlier vehicles and if they did show something in their catalog at some point, it will be a derivative of a kit that already is iin the market.
An exhaust system like this is an easy driveway project if you have decent enough ramps. Not that much skill involved in it at all, with the biggest pain probably being the bulkiness of the one-piece factory system.
Having a shop yank it out for just all straight pipe is just plain obnoxious and serves no purpose other than to annoy the hell out of neighbors and anyone within about a mile. A kid in my neighborhood has a straight-piped 350Z like that which shakes windows and pisses off everyone around here when he comes and goes at all hours (his idiot parents are clueless). The police have been over there a few times and several neighbors have talked to him about needing to go back to an "adult" system. Pure noise is just childish.

Getting a system vs. custom is always an ongoing question. For me, a system like Borla is much better because they've designed it and usually will sound better with minimal drone. A custom exhaust can be hit-or-miss in terms of the final result even if they used common design principles. Systems offered by the big boys often are much better material quality. 304SS lasts up north and will easily last the life of the car. The mandrel bent pipe is much better than what most small local custom shops offer. Install cost is variable but most cat-backs are strictly bolt-on...anyone can do it. You can already have a system installed in less time than you bringing it to a shop, waiting for it to be worked on and driving it back.

As many have mentioned before me the Borla exhaust systems for this vehicle is a direct bolt on... Installation from any skilled mechanic or exhaust shop should be around $100-$150 max..... minimal when you are shelling out the kind of money Borla exhausts cost.... As for doing the installation yourself, it's not that hard since it's fabricated to fit just as the stock exhaust does however aligning and centering the dual exhaust tips can be tricky for someone that doesn't have the experience... The last thing anyones wants is their tips to be uneven on each side.... I'm not trying to discourage anyone but just throwing it out there so all things are considered..... Good luck on w/e route any of you take. This vehicle truly does come to life with a nice exhaust system though!!

Guess i'm childish also 
Instead of spending a boat load of money on Borla , I have decided to take your advice and go custom , I just purchased a set of mufflers for a few hundred dollars to eliminate the full straight pipe setup but I am still going off your basic design . I will post final results and explain what i used after install .
