Borla Stype makes engine hotter?

Hello to all, I am a new member and have a question. I recently installed the UPR can and did the 5star tuner, currently running the Daily street/tow performance tune... that being said a few hours ago I installed the Borla Stype kit and took a ride to check it out. I used Sport mode and just drove about 5-10 miles, no issues with noise or drone, sounds good ect ect. I parked in my garage and opened the hood and immediately noticed it was HOT. I always open the hood to vent the heat as my garage gets hot but it seems like the engine is giving off more heat than before. I did not notice this before I installed the exhaust, with the tune and can the engine bay was Normal after getting home, anyone else with a similar setup have this same observation? Sorry this was a long drawn out question

Probably the tune.
I had a 5 star tune on my F150, and while it produced alot of power... It also increased engine temps

But more power = higher temps, goes hand in hand.

Thank you for the reply, I agree with the fact that more power= more heat.... just weird that with the stock exhaust it wasn’t as hot. I forgot to mention it was no more than 80 degrees when I did a test ride and I did HotDog it a bit to be able to hear the exhaust note. I am going to drive it in normal Mode tomorrow a see if that makes any difference. I would Hate to remove the tune and put it back to the Stock tune, it shifts and runs So Much better with the tune, also don’t want to ruin a 60,000$ ride.

That's half the reason I went back to stock on my F150, it was fun
But I was worried about the long term reliability.

I'll probably go with a conservative dyno tune for the ST

More power does not equal more heat with a properly functioning engine. The cooling system will keep things in check. During a hard run the chargers will make more heat...but again if they’re working properly they’ll cool off in short order....this would happen stock or tuned.

I have a theory, but no actual evidence, so take it as bro science at best.

I theorize that the stock exhaust material acts as a better insulator for heat, so instead of the heat radiating out of the exhaust and heating up the engine bay and the rest of the vehicle (borla exhaust) the heat is pushed out and flows out of the back of the exhaust (stock). I noticed a significant different on my mustang before (with cast iron manifolds) and after (SS long tubes) with regards to heat in the engine bay and even in the cabin.

A tune will push the turbo's harder. By pushing the turbo's harder you produce more heat.

A cat back exhaust doesn't remove heat shields under the vehicle. The Borla exhausts don't replace the catalytic converters. The stock cats do have a little bit of heat shielding so by replacing those with higher flowing cats you will allow a little more radiation of heat.
