Break in period limiting RPMs

Does anyone have a definitive answer on if the 2025s have an RPM limit for a break-in period? If yes, what is the duration of the break-in period? The read I ask is that I have a couple hundred miles on my new 25 ST and its falling over and soft shifting at 6500 RPMs.

Thanks!

Please describe, "falling over." May I ask which mode you are driving in?

ST model.

By falling over, I should have said falling on its face... AKA, experiencing a sudden loss of acceleration and then taking a long moment to shift. This is all at 6500 RPMs, which I find odd for even a stock motor to have a redline/rev limiter sub 7500.

Yea…they don’t spin to 7500. You’re running into the end of what it has to give.

That's unfortunate! Now, I can only wait for someone to decrypt the ECU and tune it!

Am I missing something here? Redline is around 6200 RPMs so of course it isn’t going to rev past that. Your going to hit the rev limiter and that’s what it sounds like your doing.

Still ain’t gonna spin to 7500.
Understood... At this point, I'm just looking for a bit more performance out of the trans.
Thanks for the help!

I think we can all understand that. A tune should fix the funky shifting of the transmission and make the shifts pretty nice. We’re all just saying what’s happening to it now. Unfortunately just no time yet for the 2025 so Sport mode would be your only choice to try to get a better driving experience.

Damn lol this is kinda cringe bro, a couple hundred miles and you already revved it to the limit. Common break in procedure is to keep it under 4k rpm for 1k miles change the oil and you’re good to go.

**** that…it’s not a Ferrari. I found the speed limiter within 10 miles of the dealership with less than 20 miles on the car. Drove the shit out of it every day and at 107K it’s never been back to the dealer for anything….ever.
Get it hot and vary your speed…but just drive the damn thing. Nobody needs to change their oil at 1K either…just another old wives tale that needs to die.

Yeah and if every single owner ragged on their car like that they would have an even lower reliability rating than they already do. It being an old wives tale is bs when most mechanics or even ford master techs would agree that it’s best to change it early if you want the cars to last. If this was a fresh engine build you would changing the oil 3 times by 1k miles.

I’ve built probably 50-60 engines from stock replacement to 4 figure HP…never once recommended a break in period or 1000 mile oil change…come to think of it…only had a few come back for unrelated issues. So yea…you’re wrong. lol
Drive it like you’re gonna drive it…change the oil when you should with quality product. It’ll be just fine.
