Hey everyone.
Not sure if it's been covered already but wondering if anyone knows if the Jeep Cherokee SRT Brembo 6 piston front setup will fit the ST? Will that kit fit without any modifications and just bolt on?
I want to upgrade the front brakes badly.
Looking to purchase the calipers, rotors, and whatever pads (maybe Ford performance pads).
I have a quote with taxes and install for about $2700 CAD.

Do the calipers bolt up? Yes. Is it as simple as bolting on a bunch of Jeep parts? Absolutely not.
www.racingbrake.com has the rotors needed to make it work. They also have braided stainless lines. You’ll need calipers, pads, hardware and mounting bolts and also make a small modification to the caliper for the line to bolt on.

There’s also full kits from SuperForged and Rotora as well as a Mustang GT500 Brembo caliper upgrade using a stock GT500 rotor and caliper mounting brackets someone is selling on FB.

There is also a GT350 brake upgrade. All the parts add up to $1700 and plus you can use FordPass points if you have them. Only thing you'll have to run spacers with stock wheel. Full write up from someone on facebook.

Wow really...I would need spacers with the stock 21" rims.. Man I thought this would just be a simple bolt off and on and done.

Wow these kits are crazy expensive.

You mention just wanting to upgrade the fronts so I would probably go the Jeep SRT route for the least investment cost. If you can source the calipers from eBay, its a pretty inexpensive bolt up affair with the proper mounting brackets.

The SRT Jeep calipers don’t need mounting brackets. The Mustang GT 500 calipers do.

Thanks for the info. Just to confirm, if I go with the Jeep SRT 6 pot front calipers, I would only need new rotors, hardware, and pads correct? Upgrading the brake lines to stainless would also be done. Do I need spacers?

Yes…12mm minimum with stock 21’s which pretty much means 1” bolt on since a 1/2” slip on is too thick.

Ah. So the mounting points are identical? Thats cool. Is it just a different rotor offset and rotor diameter then that drives the need for the RacingBrake rotors? Are brake mounting flange positions a standardized item? Thats funny that Jeep and Ford happen to share those specs... Leads me to believe that maybe a brake supplier like Brembo dictates those measurements and the OEMs in turn play nice.

I don't think that is true. If it were, you could use the regular mustang 6 pot brembos, but you can't as they don't fit.

Why wouldnt they fit? I know they wont fit I was just always curious why.

AFAIK the bolt holes don't line up. If they did you could just get a 2 piece rotor and bolt them up. but since they don't, you would have to modify the caliper and/or the spindle plus get a 2 piece rotor. why go thru all that when you can just get the SRT calipers and be done. BTW, there are two different sized SRT calipers. There is the jeep grand Cherokee SRT calipers that use a 380mm rotor, and there are the trackhawk calipers that use a 400mm rotor. They both will bolt up, you just need to get the correct rotor to go with them. Racing brake has them both.

The Mustang GT PP Brembos are flange-mount like the Jeep SRT Brembos, but because the bolt holes don't line up there isn't enough room to fit an adapter bracket. The Jeep SRT Brembos happen to line up. Now the GT350 Brembos are radial-mount, so there is plenty of room to fit the adapter bracket Tony sells on Facebook.

Both options are similar price. I'm paying $800 for all new brake parts from Ford (calipers, bolts, 2-piece rotors), $50 for PowerStop pads, and then $400 the bracket from Tony. It would be about $120 more for the red GT350R calipers, but I wanted the GT350 black color.

Considering I’ve ran pretty much every combo of kit available on mine including just a big front kit with the SRT Brembos I can tell y’all this…it doesn’t compare to a balanced system with a rear upgrade. With just the front kit it nose dives like crazy under hard braking. I didn’t really like it.

Confused a little. Could you use some 12mm spacers like these?

No, the studs aren’t long enough
Ah that makes sense. What offset wheel on a 10 or 10.5 IN. wheel would you need to clear the calipers?

Offset isn’t what will make the clear…the shape of the wheel center dictates that.

Thank you. Would you happen to know which rotor I need maybe even a part number?
At this point reading through the threads I figure the SRT calipers will work I just need the 2 piece rotor to fit them. Also, I need 1" spacers to make this all work..
My friend said his mechanic buddy can do it for me buy I wonder how difficult the install is?
