Not a bad idea to wait. 2021 are less expensive than the 2020s, plus they will hopefully get the problems straightened out by then.

Ford gave us a discount code to use towards the purchase of any new Ford. I think the discount was $1,500 and had to be used within 30 days of the buyback.
They’re gonna have to give me much more than that to buy a Ford again, my wife is pissed. We’ve been given a shitty loaner that she won’t touch. They’re going over details with the service manager and California lemon laws, just gonna take my money and buy a RDX.

Agreed. My wife would have divorced me if I bought her another 2020 Explorer after the hell we went through.

Just got another call, I sent them more paperwork and they are buying it back.

Sucks the voucher is only good for 30 days. Guess waiting until the 21's come out will forfeit that voucher. dangit

They can take that $1500 voucher and shove it up their ass. That’s like an insult. They should be bending over backwards to get me into another Ford. Pretty pathetic.

Paying me back all the money I've paid for the car (8 months' payments), paying off the remainder of the loan, paying me back for all installed aftermarket accessories, AND giving me $1500?
I guess that was enough for me.

Yea that seems like a pretty good deal, maybe @Pepperonipizza for some reason thought it was ONLY the $1500 voucher?

It’s a pain in the ass for me to say the least. I just leased the car back in February for my wife and kids and has only 5000 miles. They are going to deduct $.50 per mile which I automatically lose my down payment right there, so I just get my payments back for a car that’s been sitting for almost 2 months now. The back and forth with the dealership and Ford, it’s not justifiable the $1500.

Yea that's a completely different scenario for you then, I can understand why a $1500 voucher is a kick in the nuts. [nutkick]

I was able to get them to waive the mileage fee. Told them it would go a long way towards keeping me a loyal Ford buyer. It was the difference between owing them money and getting about $1,000 back,

Might be worth a try in your case.

Interesting idea, my wife really doesn’t want a ford again but if we can get a $2500 voucher for a Lincoln plus my 3k down payment back maybe that’s what we will hop into...

That’s not a bad deal towards a Lincoln.

Did you get all the papers signed and is the vehicle gone?

Just found out ours is at a dealer in California (Ford Pass is still sending updates). Hope they disclose its sordid past...

Still in the process. Hasn't been finalized yet.

Damn. Sorry brother.

Make sure to tell Ford you’re not OK with them deducting personal usage miles, seeing how long it’s taking. Might mean more money in your pocket.

I asked that question because I asked if I had to stop driving my Explorer as not to accrue miles. They assured the charged mileage is only from the mileage of the claim

‘That’s strange because my first offer was a refund, minus the total miles since we took delivery.

Well I hope I didn't get told the wrong information...or I'm gonna raise hell...

No doubt brother. Read the agreement line by line and when you go to sign it back to them, read it two more times before you take the refund check for the balance.

By the way, it took about 6 or 7 business days for them to finally pay off the loan at my credit union. Keep an eye out for the actual payoff.

Any reason you guys that did the buyback didn’t use a lawyer? There’s legal groups in AZ (where I live) that specialize in lemon laws and I was going to use one, since they said Ford will be the ones to pay their fees.

Was just wondering if the fact that Ford has to pay their fees would affect the deal they’d make with me? But then, could using a lawyer make the process go smoother...

By the way, I don’t see the poll selection option anywhere.

My 2020 has been in the shop for about 3-4 weeks or coming up on it. I requested a buyback. Breaking point is when the AWD was going in and out on the freeway. I’m really hoping Ford approves it this week and I can move on. This is my fourth Ford and first with an issue. From what I have read the ones made in Chicago are the problem child’s. Mine was built in 2019 so from the problematic era. I’m hoping they payoff my loan and pay back my loan payments like others have received. Eventually I will come back to Ford and still have my wife’s fusion energi
