I lost faith in all the auto magazines a while ago; they all bust their nut over the latest electric lady shaver that will sell well for the first 10 minutes while bankrupting the company. But they fail to mention charging in the cold, grid issues when hot, massive fire risk, environmental impact of lithium mining, slave labor mining cobalt, inefficiencies when driving over 70mph (you know, keeping up with traffic), etc. I trust Toyota on the EV shenanigans. It more environmentally friendly and makes a bigger impact on emissions by building multiple plug-in hybrids vs just one crappy EV.
