I’m planning to get a new wheel set up with black rims. I want to paint the calipers before I put them on. I have the silver spruce metallic paint. I’m leaning towards either yellow or gold. Definitely don’t want red! Looking for opinions.

I’d pick yellow, matches the fog light tint too. If you’re up for suggestions, black would look good IMO.

I don't think black would look good with black rims though. I think they would get lost visually.

Anything light colored will be extremely hard to keep clean. On that color paint I’d consider a brushed silver wheel and a gloss black caliper. I did that on one of my white trucks and it was subtle but looked great. IMG_1289.jpeg

Nice looking truck! I thought about bronze wheels with black calipers but I got a lot of negative feedback. I kind of thought bronze would look good with the silver spruce.

If you are good with Photo Shop you could play with different colors to see what you like best.

Perhaps Navy or Royal Blue, they both pair well with silver. Gloss black is also a winner that would match your stripe. Though yellow looks nice, it does require additional attention to keep clean for the 5-foot inspection. Personally, I like red, but I understand why some might feel it has been over done.

It’s more of a green than silver. It’s like a light sage. Not sure blue would look right. This picture shows it the best.

Can see that now. I've always looked at your car as being silver.

Yeah, these Silver Spruce rides of ours are definitely unique, and depending on the lighting, can show either a lot of the "spruce" or a lot of the "silver," which is one of the reasons this color is becoming one of my favorites ever.

That said, I too like the red calipers on my ride, but given the yellow-tinted fogs on yours, yellow calipers would likely look pretty sweet on yours.

I have yet to see another Explorer this color. I’ve seen quite a few ST’s around but none this color. I haven’t seen any Ford vehicles this color for that matter! It’s quite unique.

Looks like they are going to be gloss black. I’m 90% sure I’m going with a gunmetal finish on the rims. Bronze would be too bright. I think gloss black will contrast nicely behind the gunmetal.
