You can release the parking brakes and disconnected the battery from the car. Block the front wheels.

I did use a 12v power probe to unscrew the parking brakes from the new red brakes caliper ( new to me, bought used from this forum).
So you actually didn't put it in service mode? How did you bleed the brakes?

Dude…put the car in service mode. Read my post again about how it sets the pad height correctly for the e-brake. Bleed it in or out of service mode…it doesn’t matter.

I plan on putting in service mode. I'm just trying to figure out if it matters if I bleed the brakes in or out of service mode. There's literally no information online about this that I can find. I even looked through the shop manual. I cannot find a section for brake bleeding. I just didn't want to do something out of order and piss off the electronics in the car.

Don't bleed the old way. press 3 and hold the brake pedal. It light up the dash like a Christmas tree.

Vacuum pump will work.

I unplugged my battery but that me.

I planned on bleeding them with the 2 person method. A few people said it would be fine. Did you have issues that way?

The pump will kick on when you open the bleeder screw. That set off alot of fault in the system. Was lucky to use Forscan to clean all the codes.

You can unplug the battery and bleed the old way.

Awesome. I'll put it in maintenance mode, install the new parts, take it out of maintenance mode, disconnect the battery, bleed the brakes. I have forscan to take it out of maintenance mode if necessary and clear codes. That sounds like a plan to me. . Thank you and @UNBROKEN for the help. I appreciate it

You only need maintenance mode to do the rear brakes.

If it was me. Discount the battery. Replace the front brake and bleed the front. Reconnect the battery.

Super. That's exactly what I'll do.
