Hello All, Just had a question about the ford explorer and the battery life. Has anyone ever let these cars sit for a while without starting them? I currently won't use this car for about at a time, I guess I'm worried about the battery dying. I have let all my other vehicles sit for about a month at a time and they started right up when I am back in town. I don't have accessible spot for a battery tender.
Just seeing if this has happened to anyone with the Explorer ST.
Thanks

You can always just unplug a terminal.

Every so often mine will sit for 2-3 weeks at a time without me driving it, and I have never had any issues. If I know it's going to be much longer than that I'll probably plug in the Battery Tender.

Mine will go to sleep after a couple of weeks but I've let it sit for six weeks and it fired right up.

I have a CTek tender hard wired in so all I have to do is plug it in….don’t have to get all the way to the battery.

For sure it’ll got into Deep Sleep but, I agree it will likely fire up just fine for you. If you’ve still concerned and a trickle charger isn’t a possibility, maybe you could install something like this…
