Catch Cans

I'm looking to put a catch can on my ST and have been reviewing the JLT and UPR products. I was wandering if anybody had any recommendations or suggestions. Does it void the new car warranty?

Look at the features and benefits of each. JLT is much less expensive and the UPR has the electronic clean side separator which is a nice option. I did the UPR one and am happy with it. Warranty will be fine but when in doubt, take it off before going in for service.

Do I need any of the "options" available on the UPR, or is the stock setup with all the high flow stuff more than adequate?

I've got the UPR as well and no gripes. The damn orange flange that Ford uses is really fucking annoying though, but there are walk throughs on what to do if you have it.

I would opt for all the options and go for the biggest options on all hoses and valves. Why not? It actually improved my MPG a little and now I have better protection for my engine with very slightly better performance, so I came out quite pleased.

I'm not 100% certain but my driving habits have not changed and I'm up 1.5MPG since I've put it on. Granted winter is here, colder air, etc. Using all the max options didn't hurt my mileage. That's for sure.

Read up on the science behind them. I decided it wasn't necessary as there is no way I will have this car longer than let's say 10 years and 100k miles.

As a professional aircraft mechanic and lifelong gearhead I looked at all the options and went with the UPR. Both UPR and JTL are good at what they do but UPR goes the extra mile in engine protection and I can have the vehicle back to stock in 10 minutes and move the system to a new ST in the event of a mishap resulting in a total loss of the ST.
