Clunk in front end

2025 explorer ST, 2500 miles. started hearing clunking in front end at slow speed about 2000 miles ago, took it in last Thursday, they checked out and said it was a bad bearing on the strut. said they didn't have parts It now been a week and no
word from them. I just tried contacting the service rep. and it keep hanging up, it's going to force me to have to drive to the dealer. I've not hit any bumps or anything in the road that should have caused this. the car had 50 miles on it when I bought it.
Just got a call back from service rep. said waiting on two more parts. they are going to replace the strut and all the parts related to it. I asked if they had any idea how this happened, he said won't really know until they take apart but believes it is probably
just defective part or parts. he's checking to see when I can get it back it to fix.
Has anyone else had anything like this happen to there car.

File it under “shit happens”. Strut bearings go bad..sometimes they’re built bad. Sounds like your dealer is on it and it doesn’t hurt anything for you to drive it.

Had them replaced on my ‘20 just recently at around 50,000. It was no big deal: just had to put up with the annoying clunk briefly, but my dealership got in the new ones pretty quick. Other than the cracked CV boots, this was the only warranty work I’ve needed since new.

Thanks for your quick replies. I was a little upset until I got the call from him and that they are going to replace all the parts.

I'm at 4k miles and having a strut mount replaced currently.

Both of my STs, the old A-Build 2020 and my current 2022, have that odd clunking at low speeds. Even the 2024 XLT rental car I had was doing it. Seems like a common problem.

My 2023 has been at the dealership for the past 7 days for the strut replacements.
Dealership said all the parts are in and that’s why it was scheduled last week.
According to Ford pass, my Explorer hasn’t been started or moved all this time and is still sitting in the back lot.
Service writer keeps giving me the run around excuses.
I’m going there in the morning to get to the bottom of this hold up.
