Hey guys, I just wanted to let everyone know that aFe is at it again and will be testing both front and rear sway bars for our STs. They will start testing these units next week. Once they're happy with everything, then they will be providing all the details about the sway bars like diameters and increased stiffness percentages. Just wanted to share this exciting news.

Hopefully they take some lessons from Steeda. I know zero people who aren't on the stiffest setting, so making a 3-position bar is pointless AND if you lop off those two extra holes it gives alot more room for lowering springs and you don't get the rub that some customers had.

Did you have Steeda lowering springs? I do and am installing the Steeda sway bar next week. Is there issues with the combination of the two? Thanks

Believe the issue was with the combo of Steeda bar and H&R springs, but also believe that was resolved as well. I've had Steeda bar and springs on for 2 years now. Spirited driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway with 0.0 issues. Bar and springs on these hefty ladies is a must. You'll be amazed at the difference.

I am not currently lowered, but will be speaking with them about that. I've had to keep my ST as stock as possible for them throughout all their testing processes. I will definitely let them know the previous issues and concerns and see what else they're planning.

Steeda lowering springs and bar installed at the same time. No issues. The Steeda springs have about half the drop of the H&R springs. IMHO Steeda is the way to go. Just enough drop to hint something is going on.

Not sure how much effect lowering sport springs will have on a bar's performance. Reach out to Unbroken or TMac. Both are great resources.

first gen bar and H&R springs had fitment issues... (revised bar design alleviated the issue) but really there was no reason for the clearances to be that close to begin with. I chopped off my last two holes (middle and softest settings) just for peace of mind.

Just wanted to give an update. The ST is over at aFe waiting for them to do their magic and put on their new front and rear swaybars. They'll be testing the Explorer for a couple of days and should have all the comparative stats on stiffness over stock and other details like diameters to share.

Steeda advertised as 1.25in drop all around, however my shop guys said it seemed a bit more once settled.
Vehicle looks and rides better. IMO.

Agree with ARC. Additionally, upon initial install alignment was within specs with no adjustment. Since the drop is equal f/r the suspension rake is maintained. Beneficial when fully loaded or towing with moderate young weight. I'm not lying however, some of the group went with H&R along with wheel changes and the results look awesome.

As far as I know, they are still in the works. I will find out more this week and get back on this. I know some things got pushed back because of other projects.

So here are the results. The front sway bar has a diameter of Ø38mm, with a 3-hole design and an increased stiffness of 30-60% over stock. The rear sway bar has a diameter of Ø25.4mm, with a 3-hole design and an increased stiffness of 97-150% over stock. The sway bars will be powder coated blue and come with polyurethane bushings and black anodized billet aluminum brackets.

Unfortunately they aFe had to make some adjustments to the rear sway bar, so I am not able to provide details on how the set feels together. Once they have the rear ready again and install it, I'll be able to give better feedback on the complete set.

Any ETA on availability? I may put the front bar on my list of things to do before Power Tour in June is they’re out by then.
