Courtesy Blinks

Hey all, new here as of today. Read many threads here and finally took the plunge. Looks like many, many helpful and knowledgeable folks here so I'm looking forward to the interactions we'll have.

From all the threads I've read, here and around, it appears it is absolutely impossible to change the courtesy blinks on 20-23 explorers from 3 > "X" because the "stalk" isn't upgraded. I presume the stalk is the lever for the blinker? Since 2020 explorers are 5 years old now and still no workaround has been found?

I did all the usual stuff on my 2020 F150 Limited which was a great find back in the day. Wish my 2023 Explorer ST was a little more accommodating in Forscan for all the stuff that can be done with the F150s.

But anyways, just bought me a TOPDON J2534 Passthru as well for FDRS. Its relatively inexpensive compared to others. Looking forward to see what I can tinker with with a 2 day sub to FDRS for $50 lol.. (Mainly just want to check for software/firmware updates to modules, programing, etc.)

I was wondering when someone would try that out. The main benefit I see besides the price is the device is configurable for multiple different car models. The Mongoose for Ford can't be used for anything but Ford or Mazda, as far as I'm aware.

And as far as know, TOPDON is a fairly good brand. It will probably be awhile before I do anything with it (so I'll be past the 30 day return) but I remember to come back here after I use it, I'll report back. Not really wanting to do in depth stuff with it (unless someone wants to spot me the extended license cost ) because I am sure I can mess stuff up pretty bad, but I like to keep things up to date, and this lets me do updates without having to go to the dealer at $50 a pop for two days of use time, I'm all for it.
