Got an email about the issues with Sync 3, inviting me to return to dealer about the issues with Sync 3.

Customer Satisfaction Program for Certain 2018-2024 Ford Vehicles With SYNC® 3

Program Number: 24B47

Not sure if y'all have gotten it yet, or if they're just starting to send it out. I haven't had issues with Sync 3 yet. But, I've had this ST for less than 4 months. I'll be asking about it Monday when I go in for my break in oil change.

I received it as well. I have the 2023 ST and my issues started a week or so ago. Nav not working or only half the Nav screen shows and or black screen/pre sets don't save Sirius radio and or FM radio stations change randomly.../ intermittent blue screen. Its a pain in the ass and I'm excited for the fix! Highly recommend getting it fixed so you don't have to live through the annoyance lol.

I have a scheduled appointment next Friday to have this update done and to find out why I have moisture build up inside the spare tire well area.

I did a USB update to 23188 as soon as I got back from Ashville, didn't want to risk an issue with the update before we left. (That and my black ST badges) However, the file to confirm to Ford wouldn't upload. The car says it's completed, however. But, I had it look for a software update hoping that would notify Ford it was complete and it tried to do another update. After 10 minutes I shut the car off, the status bar had barely moved. When I go out in the car this weekend, I'll try again. If I can get it done on it's own this weekend, great, if not, my oil change is scheduled for 2 PM Monday, it might not be enough time for Ford to do it. My service writer says 2-3 hours. Can take up to 7 hours. But, it's on the schedule with the oil change.

Oh, by the way, I tried several times to get it to do the update to 23188, it kept saying no update found, even though I was on an older software version.

This may not mean anything, but is something to toss around. SSM 52704 (CSP 24B47) refers to Sync APIM NU5T-14G381-AB/BB being the most common problem. My records show that was used in the problem prone Sync 22251. Sync 23188 looks to be a later version. It could be if, like me, you had no problems with 22251 and successfully moved onto 23188 it may never be a problem. There could also be more to it. We shall all wait for further info from Ford.

Sync 22200 NU5T-14G381-AA.tar.gz

Sync 22251 NU5T-14G381-AB.tar.gz

Sync 23188 NU5T-14G381-AD.tar.gz

SSM 52704 2019-2024 Various Vehicles - SYNC 3 - Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM) Programming Error - "INSTL_ERR12" Using FDRS Or Stuck On "Updating System Software" Or No Response From The Vehicle When Using The Universal USB Updater

Some 2019-2024 vehicles equipped with SYNC 3 may experience a programming Error - "INSTL_ERR12" while programming APIM using the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) or experience a frozen screen which says "updating system software" or no progress/response from module using the universal USB updater. This may be due to low memory in the APIM commonly occurring on software level NU5T-14G381-AB/BB. The current software level can be verified in the SYNC tab of Professional Technician System (PTS) or using the vehicle's center display screen, Settings > General > About. To correct the condition, run the universal USB updater. If unsuccessful, using the latest software version of the FDRS scan tool, run the service function "APIM - Reset the Accessory Protocol Interface Module Application" and select "Clear All User Data" option. The center display screen will reboot. As soon as the vehicle's center display screen displays the boot up logo, immediately reinsert the same universal serial bus (USB) drive that was utilized during the prior failed programming attempt. The vehicle's center display screen should display "successful APIM update" when complete. If process does not complete as expected, retry no more than one time. If the concern persists, then raise a Technical Support Request for assistance. Do not replace the APIM prior to contacting Technical Support.

It is common for the upload to Ford confirming the update to not work. It finally worked for the first time when I did the 23188 update. If the car says it has the update, then just leave it. Also common is for the car to not show an update available when there really is one available. Best to shut off the wi-fi and just always use the USB update. Some here have had the wi-fi update cause real problems.

I turned off auto update when I read how much trouble everyone here, well, several here, have had with auto updates. The update to 23188 turned it back on. It's off, again.

So, according to my dealer, despite the email, I am at the latest software. Now, was discussing issues I've read here on this board with my service writer. He says there is going to be an update in October. He's not sure if it's going to be OTA or not, but Ford is aware there is still something going on with the system. So, eyes open in the Fall for the next attempt at solving all the issues.

You are lucky thst your st has the 4g lte to do updates.ours has that as a delete.
Imo
If we buy the vehicle, ALL updates should be part of delivery
Mine sat for almost 12 months on his lot
Of course it had 5 or 6 updates
I did sync via. USB
And got one done when adaptive cruise was loosing it's mind.. the fix was not software or hardware. It was dealer trim plate around front license plate thst was hanging down in path of radar

Mine's missing the cellular modem, too. Don't want it anyway. Most of the guys here strongly advise against the over the air updates. USB is the best way to go.
