Anyone have any datalogs they'd be willing to share? Stock or modified. I'm just wanting to review some logs before the tuning process on my explorer starts.

Datalogs do not giveaway any of your tuners secrets. It is not sharing any part of your tuners tunes. It is just a log of how your vehicle is functioning.

Those of us that have done logging understand what logs are. Why do you want them though?

If you are going with ZFG it is all part of the process. If you already have your RTD or MPVI2 you can log now, and even before tuning.

Same question here. Most of us have dozens of log files, but you set up a data table file before running a log specifying what parameters you are after, so we would need to know exactly what info you are looking for in order to give you anything of value.

ZFG and I got into a little argument about this on facebook. The conclusion ended up being I came off kind of wrong just asking for a datalog. I don't want to come off the wrong way in my introduction here to the eco boost world. So for now if someone wants to share their stock file that'd be great. ZFG and I disagree a bit on sharing the modded log. But I'm not looking to upset anyone. So any data I can get is great. My explorer was built 11/16 and still havent seen it. SO just trying to get what I can for now.

What Stock file are you looking for? Logs, or the actual tune?

Again, what are you looking for from the log? You can log your own stock ST when it gets to you. Still wondering what you are trying to accomplish. It is just a weird request.

I have probably more log files on an ST than pretty much any single person because of work I did with ZFG on various tunes early on. Heck my E50 tune has like 17 revisions.

Most don’t do much logging stock, if any at all. I have like 2 because of the low oil issue, but that is all.

Since most of us that would have logs are ZFG customers. We HIGHLY respect ZFG’s opinion, and probably wouldn’t share if he doesn’t think it is kosher.

I have no problem logging when I get mine in. Which I will be doing. I'm just getting excited. Only looking for a stock log. I was able to find a stock tune to start playing with.

You do realize that another Stock tune might not even be close to yours? There have been many mid model changes to strategy, modules, and even physical hardware(like the recent factory BOV removal). You are most likely wasting your time.

Stock log is useless from a vehicle that is not yours. Especially if you don’t have an understanding of how these work. This is not your Dad’s old school V8.

I don't see what all the fuss is about, if you don't want to share a log, don't. ZFG posted in another thread that even if someone could see his tune parameters, they wouldn't know what was going on- just a log isn't going to give away some massive top secret. Why discourage a new member and proceed to be condescending about "This is not your Dad's old school V8"?

I have asked what he is looking to glean from looking at the logs, and have gotten no response to that question.

I also posted 100% accurate info above. He could legitimately be wasting his time. If his ST was just built, it has no BOV. Looking at a stock file or logs from one with is partially useless. There are other changes too that have happened as the ST has had revisions, both at the software and hardware level.

For any of this to be helpful for him. He would need to be looking at logs and tune for the same vehicle, so the data compares.

There is history and more to this story. He basically has admitted he will be tuning himself in other places.

That being the case, he'll end up just like the last member who was going to do his own tune. As I remember he ended up unsuccessful and then bought the zfg tune. When are you going to race him? ;)

I agree with you. But there was a big argument on another page about this. I was told to "pound sand" for asking for a log. But I don't want my introduction to the eco boost community to be negative. So I took my request away. We can all argue all day on if a datalog is stealing a tune. To me it isn't. In other communities I am it is no big deal. Also if I wanted to steal a tune I would have just bought a tune an seen exactly how everything was done.

The difference with me is I have tuned 9 second cars before. This isn't going to be the first car I tune. It won't be the last. I have never done a ford. I was just trying to gather as much information on the platform as possible. For me to get a baseline of how a car acts is to see logs. There are so many ways to accomplish different things. Knowing max timing at a certain boost level isn't/shouldn't be a trade secret as you said above. But I'm not looking to restart the argument right now.

I also believe for the safety of your car it is important to have someone else to review the log for the saftey of your car. I have reviewed numerous tunes and have caught issues I have told the person to speak to their tuner about. I'd really like to be able to do this on this forum. It's part of the hobby for me

Even though there are changes I think changes are important to learn a platform as a whole is important. This stuff is fun to me and I am just trying to learn as much as I possibly can.
Even though I can learn from a log how a vehicle is running from a log I do disagree on the fact that I will be stealing a tune. As I mentioned above.
Also i did find a post saying even from zfg even if I had his tune that I wouldn't be able to check template it and copy it over. So with him saying that. I really dont know the big deal from a datalog.

First, you weren’t told to pound sand. I replied to your thread this morning as well as approved you into the group…which I run along with 2 others. You elected on your own to take your post down. Just want to clarify that.
Second…what you’ve tuned has no bearing on tuning an ST aside from having some idea up front about what happens when certain changes are made. This doesn’t make you a “tuner” and it certainly doesn’t qualify you to read someone else’s log and tell them something is wrong with it. These things are tricky. The 10r60 is even trickier. Until you put your hands on one and actually accomplish something with it I don’t find you qualified in the least to have an opinion on someone else’s logs.

I can certainly agree with you that it's awfully difficult to get people to share anything- even the stock tune parameters. I attribute this to the relative newness of the platform and the limited number of tuners. I have experience in tuning, and like you new to the Ford platform, but I wouldn't even bother trying to tune it myself. But I'm endlessly curious and can't even get an answer for the following:
What is the stock boost level (psig)? I would think this would be common knowledge.
Is that boost level fixed, or do the maps allow for adjustment via rpm or gear or both?
Coming from Haltechs and Autronics (remember them?), it's more of a curiosity than anything else.

I had a pm conversation with the tuner I was arguing with. Told him I wasn't trying to come off wrong. We had 2 or 3 messages back and forth. I'm not trying to make enemies.

I'm not going to get involved in any argument, but @Jonx96 if you've been on other message boards you know you have to build up your respect over time. And don't get me wrong, I'm not finding fault, but like @zdubyadubya posted, had you said you wanted to see specific logs- IAT, Lbs/Min airmass, timing, etc, and named them, you would have likely been seen as more credible. Just an FYI

The tuner you were arguing with holds every possible record with the ST. If he gave you any advice I’d listen to it.

I 100 percent agree. I told Adam i shouldn’t have made that as a first post. Like I said I want no beef with him or anyone else. It is why I can’t back here only asking for stock.
