0% interest would not be the deciding factor on whether or not to purchase GAP insurance. You have to look at what your loan amount is compared to what your vehicle is worth. GAP is worthless if you don't owe more than it is worth.

Very true... I guess I was more emphasizing the huge length of car loans these days. With cheap financing people are easily getting into a highly depreciating asset for 72, 84, and even in some cases 96 month loans... at that point GAP becomes a necessity.

And for me, I was upside down because I traded in my earlier vehicle too early so had to get GAP.
