I took my ST in to have the exhaust done and he got it all off except for the down pipes. He is waiting on a special socket for the nuts that hold them on! I guess Ford decided to put tamper resistant nuts on them! He hopes to have it this afternoon but almost a whole freakin day has been wasted! Anyone else have this problem? I watched the video that shows how to do it and he never mentioned a special socket.

It’s just an e-torx. Nothing weird. They use them on the rear diff cover as well.

I just ordered one on Amazon. Couldn't find it locally.

They must be fairly new because he didn't have the socket and he is a third generation mechanic. His grandfather opened the shop back in 60's.

Really! That's strange because I've worked on cars my whole life and I've never ran into one before. I figured they must be new. Especially since my mechanic didn't have the sockets; nor his father, nor his grandfather for that matter. But that's what I like about these forums, you learn new things all the time.
