Drop springs and alignment.

Has anyone been able to correct to rear camber after a drop spring install. We downloaded all the specs and points for adjustment but the bolt they claim is slotted for adjustment most definitely isn’t. We got toe corrected but the camber didn’t move.
What is everyone else finding?

I have an appointment at a suspension shop on Tuesday to get mine looked at. If I learn anything, I’ll post.

Dang. Well at least it is in the correct direction for cornering grip...

there are rear SPC camber bolts but they only list up to 2019 Explorer
I have a message out to SPC to confirm if the bolts work on the 2020 Model year

That really isn’t bad at all. Seriously might help with lateral grip...But will get more pronounced with weight or a hard launch.

I ordered the SPC rear camber bolts for a 2019...I’ll test for them myself instead of waiting on someone else to figure it out. If they don’t fit it’s only 30 bucks to try. If they do...we’ll all know.

Tonight I was driving, level pavement, no load, and I have chirping coming from the rear tires, so there’s an alignment issue for sure.

Anybody have 5he Steedas installed yet? If so, any similar camber issues?

You have an alignment sheet like above that you can post?

Camber alone, especially negative should not cause chirping on level ground if toe is good.

Agreed and there’s enough adjustment for toe to get it well within spec.

That is the issue, you have toe issues. That would explain the chirping.

The previous generation had a bit of play in the inward bolt of the UCA. Have you tried backing it off to see if there is any play available there?

That’s what the computer said to try....we got nothing. I read on a Ford Flex forum Where they said the upper, outer bolt where a camber bolt would go has some slack in it...it’s a shared platform with the older Explorers. I’m gonna look at that first before I try the SPC bolt.

How did the appointment go?
Because I ran the previous gen H&R springs for 3500 miles, and they weren’t meant for the ST, the camber on the rear was off (positive, if you’d believe it) so my tires were worn unevenly. They’d rather wait until I have new tires to do the alignment. Luckily I had already ordered the tires because I knew they needed replacing, and they should be here any day. So, nothing to report, but they were anxious to give it a go after I told them the issues we’ve been seeing with these current gen springs. I’m looking forward to UNBROKEN’s results, which may make life easier for all of us.

On another note, they have an all-wheel Dyno that they’d like to put it on since I have the PBD tune and they have a custom exhaust shop.

I believe JShaffer and I are still the only two STs in Europe (he’s in Germany, I’m in Belgium). I can’t speak for the Germans, but Belgians love the American cars that they don’t have access to. I was invited to a meetup thats coming up in Knokke, so wifey and I may go up in a couple of weekends.

I have a set of Steeda's coming in today and have been in direct contact w/ their team here in Pompano Beach, FL. According to them there are no alignment issues. I'm hoping they can have them installed this week or sometime early next week due to the holiday weekend. I'll keep you guys posted once installed.
