will be exporting my ST to Costa Rica next year and I am currently getting the tax exemption for their import tax. My lawyer submitted the form but it got returned asking for the "engine number". I've never been asked that before. Does anyone know where it is located? Thanks in advance.

The engine number is stamped on the engine block near the gearbox on the front left-hand side facing the radiator.

Stationed overseas we had to include that in our paperwork when bringing our POV with us to and from different duty stations. Well I only had to do it once and glad I never had to do that again. I only knew where the Explorers numbers were because my wife does titling work and one of her customers needed the numbers so we asked Big Blue.

I’m trying to picture that. lol
There’s no gearbox by the radiator. It’s not a transverse mounted engine.

The number would start with L1ME-XXXXX-XX right? One for the block and cylinder casting?

Follow up: I actually went to Ford and "reluctantly" they looked it up somehow for me. First we used OASIS, but then someone else went in the back and then came out with a printout of my engine number,
