Never liked extended warranties. Sold service contracts for a while and they mostly made money.

I bought two extended warranties, one on a 2017 GMC 2500HD Denali and one on my ST. Between emissions issues and def fluid issues along with $1000 power heated folding mirrors, heated seats, and a few other electronic issues it paid for itself 3 to 4 times over.

Just rolled 35k on my ST and it’s been damn dear perfect except for the sunroof shade not working and a few pieces of exterior trim screwed up. Going in this week to get those fixed then I’m on the extended warranty. We will see how it goes from here. Lots of computer modules in cars these days.

Good position to be in.
coming from jeeps the warranty has paid for itself every time.
for a max care plan that cost me 2k on my last GC I had to replace-
Radio- $1800
Frozen calipers- $1000, I could have done it myself but why with the max care plan..
New cylinder head because of valve issues plus an electrical issue- over $5000 quoted, forgot actual.
another electrical issue, had to replace coil packs, plugs, wiring harnesses . - $2750

I had a $100 deductible and the loaner was covered.
similar issues with the 2 prior ones…

my glass is half full but with all the tech and turbos..et all, I may swing for the plan on this.
I don’t mind doing some mechanical work on my own timeline, not when the car wants to crap out.

Ha, Ha, I hear you on the tech & turbos. It's too bad Jeep vehicles aren't more reliable because I really like them. Back in my old Army days in the 70's driving those old Jeeps was a blast and I've had a couple of Wranglers as rentals and enjoyed them all. The asking price on them is also insane considering what you are getting so I've never been tempted to buy one.

The wranglers were the toys to play, I had far too many grand Cherokees… those were nice but the most recent years plagued with problems.
Stellatlantis screwed the Jeep name with quality and way overpricing the wranglers
