I’m looking at this upgrade with a HKS BOV. Thoughts?

I got a deal on a new levels performance IC. Looking at afe CAI and charge pipe since the front end is coming off

Levels Performance has an Explorer ST intercooler on the market. I bought it new from a local enthusiast who decided to sell his. I don’t want to bad mouth the company but they’ve had some issues. I’ll defer to your research.

I believe the HKS gives a high pitch whistle note as opposed to a whoosh. I chose Turbosmart raceport.

I could be wrong tho.

The sound can be tuned with an insert. I do like the turbosmart. Don’t like the added cost on the pipe.

I’m a knucklehead. I should’ve read more carefully. The FenFab pipe includes the turbosmart BOV. That’s why it costs more. I’ll probably get that.

I have the HKS SSQV4 and I do like it but I wish I would have went turbo smart or the TIAL. The TIAL sounds awesome to me but the HKS that I remember in the past on certain vehicles doesn't sound the same to me now.

It’s cake. Included is a rubber stopper and plate that will cover up the original set up. No spring.Change

I ended up going HKS. I'll take the whistling fin out and install the purple low frequency fin. It sounds very similar to the Turbosmart with the purple insert. I liked the HKS design and marketing slightly more than the TS. Probably can't go wrong with any of the choices. I may find a way to recirculate it after a while if I find the hiss too intrusive. Do you find the noise annoying?
