You want to see an example of one party rule and defunding the police and socialisim in action?
It's not just Chicago, it's just about every major city in the US

This is the problem with having ultra-rich who are not fairly taxed. The wage gap, inflation, and interest rates skyrocket, making everyone desperate.
(The cost of buying a house is insane, and therefore rent prices/property tax is all up.)
Yes, there were problem-people and crime before, but the question is, can we tell it's getting worse? (This thread has people saying yes)

Of course, until things become safer (IF they do), this thread is very much necessary.

I have an actual, real life multi-billionaire buddy that pays more in taxes a year than I’ve paid in my entire 54 years combined. Rich people aren’t the problem…whiny, entitled fucks that think they deserve the same things as people that actually work for them are.

Yeah, runaway inner-city crime is definitely a direct result of the "ultra-rich" not paying their "fair share," rather than actually being caused by those in charge of said cities, who, by the way, all share one common denominator: 1722545414071.png 1722545214559.png

If you want decent housing prices, get the F out of San Fran. Where I live you can get a 3,000 sq. ft. house with a basement and about a quarter acre for 400K or less and that is out in the suburbs. 400K in San Fran will get you a cardboard box under a bridge.

I dont disagree. There sure are *some* who pay their due, but it is a fact that many do not.
I pay more in taxes every year than many families that whine about "Others who don't pay their taxes" while they actually do not.
(IF the IRS holds your money through the year, but gives it all back as a refund then also gives you money for "Earned Income Credits" (you popped out babies), then you are not paying taxes)

By the numbers, the difference in income and the increase in cost of living are at vastly different growth rates. It is going to make more desperate people than if these conditions were not true.

None of this discussion affects the fact that if you step to one's family, you might not step again - hence the need for this thread.

That is mostly true - but house prices are up everywhere, and have been since the pandemic. ( I shopped in a non-San Fran-type market for over a year )
Again, by the numbers, everything is pretty much 30% higher. Even buying in more rural areas they still have people over a barrel. Corporations snapping up housing quick as a flash, using them for rental investments, etc.
Many have bought back home in these last few years, I've been watching. It's a serious meat-market out there.
Being an owner that makes you happy, "I have something going up in value and am unaffected by the horrific market, yay!".
Being a seller, it makes you happy, "I doubled my original price and didn't even pay half the mortgage yet, I'll take home a bucket!"
Being a buyer? Bend over, grab your ankles, and realize that you're way worse off buying a house than even your parents were. ps, Good luck getting a job that pays for it in many areas.

Prob with selling and making a bucket load of cash. If you are planning on buying again, it will still be at an over priced home.
People been over paying in the last few years. The prices they paid are much more than they might be now. They’d have to live there till they are in the black once more.

ie, I paid $320k for a fairly new home on an acre in sort of a rural area TN. Its median market value is over $500k. They tried to get me to refi. No way. I’m sitting at ~ 2.87% now.
If I sell now, I’d loose all the equity that I’ve gained by paying down my mortgage or by gaining equity due to over market value.
OR downsize. Not happening either.

To those of you claiming rich people dont pay taxes and that is the cause of crime... Are you possibly over looking the Democrat Party and the media's push to defund
and vilify police officers and departments all over the USA for the last 4 years? The governments all over the country will not do their jobs to keep law and order in this country and you blame rich people and taxes???? Man!!!!
Are you unaware that in Democrat run cities like Chicago, the government fails to prosecute and put people in jail and keep them there for crimes that deserve lengthy jail sentences? In all seriousness, what bubble do you folks live in?
By the way, George Floyd, who's death sparked all the riots and the brainiacs dumb idea to defund the police, Floyd died of a drug overdose. Not police brutality. The officers actions by not realizing the Man needed help contributed to his death but did not directly cause it. The drugs did that.
So the remedy was to vilify all police officers and de-fund all police departments. How has that worked out?
I have a hard time believing that you folks hold that view cannot or wont see the obvious truth. The crime problem in this country is the result of the breakdown in law and order. The crime problem in Chicago which tends to spill over into the surrounding counties is the result of laws passed that allow prosecutors not to prosecute and judges to not sentence and keep in jail people that should definitely be locked up.
And Democrats run the entire show. To live in Illinois and be a Republican is to have no voice.
And Bidens job on the economy and letting millions of illegals into this country didnt help anything.
Sanctuary city anyone? Anyone now? What a sad joke.
This is why people who are not criminals conceal and carry.
And why where to carry your firearm in your explorer is even a topic.
Kinda sad but at least we now have the right to defend ourselves unlike when I was a kid. But back then people respected the police and valued law and order. People still do but for some strange reason, elected officials dont care about it.
Stop BS ing around and tell the truth.
