So I just talked to my salesman as I was supposed to get our newly transferred purchase from the st that was sitting on the lot to one that was “inbound” and supposed to arrive on the 18th. I was told and I’m copying and pasting here “ Told that no ST explorer has left the plant and they’re ALL still there with no ETA. ” my salesman also said that management is getting upset with our salesman because he keeps inquiring about the vehicle that management suggest we move into…..
:ROFLMAO: If you don't laugh, you'll cry

Im from Ontario Canada, just wondering when you call Ford Canada, what have they been telling you? I have not yet called but curious if it’s worth a shot or not. I feel like I’m getting the run around and never any straight answers.
Calling is a complete waste of time. I call every day and every day I get a different answer. On Monday when I called the lady from Ford that I spoke to called the dealer service manager and asked him why I was still waiting and why my vehicle was not fixed. The service manager told her that there is not yet a fix available for the vehicle. They have no clue what is going on and it can not be escalated to anyone. They are basically washing their hands of the problem and don't care for the people waiting and wanting the vehicles they purchased. One day I called Ford the guy that answered told me that i should just go buy something else. It's all a complete joke.

As a sidenote, Honda has had similar 360 cam issues as someone mentioned earlier, and now I stumbled upon this.… ah the era of third party supplier and outsourced slap-copy-and-paste programming from the lowest bidder, coming together and amassing into a giant cluster…

I actually work at a Chrysler dealer, but this is a recall and not a stop delivery.

So question - I know that the stop sale applies even on the used ones. But I guess that's if I try to buy a used one at a Ford dealership? But what happens if I went to a non Ford dealer or a Carmax? Does the stop sale still apply?

A very good question indeed.

I really would prefer buying new to have a clean slate and get to go to the ST SUV Experience....but it's getting frustrating and the used market is starting to look a little more appealing everyday.

I hear you all, but I am fairly reluctant to purchase a used "performance" vehicle. Everytime someone takes an ST for a ride, test drive, etc. I figure they are likely flooring it to see what it really has. As much as I drive I would rather get it brand new to ramp up to the abuse. LOL.

Used ones are being sold at Ford dealers.

Guess they would have to just find one that has been traded in at a non-Ford dealer. I have Chevy dealers calling me about my Explorer trying to buy it even if I don't buy anything. Some of that is just business as usual, but I'll bet some of it is because Explorers are in short supply.

I never said that it was any kind of stop - I am just pointing out that it is another botched implementation by the same backwards thought processes and likely some cross contamination of cruddy design, engineering from most likely a third party supplier that either contracts out parts, labour, or both. When I say labour, I mean agencies that provide engineering from their end or contractors to design/proof/whatever for these systems as facilitators, consultants, etc.

I just heard from my dealership that Ford is now saying they’ll have the fix mid September. Anyone else hearing that as an update? I don’t believe anything they tell me. But this is the first time they’ve reached out to me with any information.

We talked to our dealership today about backing out but the tricky part is that we traded in our other car and the dealership already paid off our previous loan. So technically speaking we don’t own a vehicle. The dealership told us we could contact our old bank to reinstate our auto loan. The dealership also told us we would be left to pay off the vehicles sales tax which I don’t get why we’d have to pay that if we never had the darn car to begin with!

I did. I’m no dummy. I can tell when I’m being lied to. They’re trying to keep us on the hook. I’m getting into a 2024 Telluride. I love it. But it’s not my Fire. I’ve been a ford girl my entire life. This is the deal breaker

just sucks how unprofessional everyone is being. A little communication between the dealerships/ford and those of us waiting would go a long way. We love our fords but this is just out of hand.
The new 2024 traverse is looking quite nice.

If you can still back out of it, do not get the Telluride. I know two people who had their homes go down with their Tellurides nice and crispy. And another who got the warning not to park near their house the week after he took delivery... and that’s just the more serious issues. The brand itself is a disaster with engine failures but at least most of the cheaper models do not cost as much for the trouble that they are worth.

The odds of you knowing two people that had that happen are mind boggling, it's like knowing two people that got struck by lightning. According to Motor Trend, FOUR Tellurides and Palisades and FOUR Sorentos caught fire, so you mean you know 25% of the people affected. That's nothing short of astounding.
That was for the 2020-2022 Telluride, she said 2024, so context is important. You shit on Hyundai/Kia in a thread about a manufacturer that has tens of thousands of vehicles sitting in a stop sale. Don't forget about the self destroying transmission in the Focus. Let's not mention our shitty diff mounts, the constantly leaking mid pipes, axles that fall apart, the hose clamps on the rattling exhaust, the cat replacements and the fucking list goes on. We've had our mid-pipes and cracked cats replaced and just noticed it sounds like a fucking tractor again, must have cracked a third cat, huh? Just noticed our oil pan is leaking again, guess we'll get it replaced for the 3rd time. We've been dealing with a semi-functional camera system on our vehicle for over a year, software "updates", new rear camera...FFS. I'd happily give up for a Telluride, I bet their caliper paint doesn't flake off after a year.

a stop sale that has been in place since May and isn’t expected to be lifted until “sometime in the 4th quarter”. I’ll take my chances with the telluride. I have several friends with them and they’ve never experienced the issue of not being able to park it near their home. I’m of the mindset right now that every single car comes with its issues. Every one of them these days and I’d rather take my chances on the telluride. I can count on one hand hoe many have caught fire and that to me seems a safer bet than the 30k sitting on a runway in Chicago for the last 4 months
