That’s a punch in the gut… what the heck happened

I was getting my '16 Limited cleaned up and ready for Carvana to come pick it up. They told me they could not make it today and would come on Friday. Had the ST in my moms garage (been at her house a good bit of the day) and took it out at 5pm as I was getting ready to leave and go home. (Put the '16 back in the garage and the ST on the street). Forgot a few things I needed to do for her before leaving. Did them and came back out at 6pm (1 HR!)... Called the cops when I realized what happened. I'll bet that's $20-25K worth of damage. (Headlight, front bumper, quarter panel, passenger door, passenger mirror, moulding, and anything else under the body panels that was destroyed).

And the REALLY funny thing is I have been with Geico for 17 years. The quote on our cars was so high that I switched to USAA. Today was my first day of coverage.

Soooo. What do you think the odds will be that the UAW decide to strike at the Chicago Explorer plant if they don't reach an agreement by midnight? It's getting so crazy that you can't make things up.

With our luck, that will be the only plant they have a strike at.

I also saw this today, "However, the two sides remain far apart in these proposals, meaning that a strike remains a real possibility. If that happens, another union – the Teamsters – won’t deliver Ford vehicles either, according to the Detroit Free Press"

The Mustang goes in the garage soon so I need something. I am considering just picking up an F150 Lariat.

This was my 4th F150 ! I love the room and the 2019 Roush 5.0 coyote made it fun! 6” king shock auto running boards, cold air intake, 36” Toyo tires. Ran 4 years no issues. If you can’t wait F150 is good!

Agreed, my new shipping dates are the 15th - 21st. Slips everyday a bit further. This strike ain't gonna make matters better either. Feel for the dealers too right now.

We are coming up on 6 months since we ordered our ST on 3/21. It was given a build date of 5/3 and has been showing that date ever since and the last updated date is also stuck at 5/3.

Several dealers in N.E. Ohio are showing Platinums with "Exterior Parking Cameras on right and left side plus front and back. The front and back include washers. They also have forward and reverse parking sensors. POSSIBLY the new substitute for the 360° debacle?

I tried to work with my dealer to grab an ST with the 360 camera delete from a different nearby dealership... earlier he had said they sometimes can swap with other dealerships so I wanted him to pursue it. I knew it was a complicated ask, but I wanted to honor our arrangement and try to find a way to give them the sale. His reply was "Feel free to deal on the one at the other dealership, but we have no say in it. It's their unit and they're not going to trade it to us. It doesn't work that way. Do what's best for you."

So I did. I went and bought it. I didn't love his tone and frankly, he hasn't been helpful in any way over this 6 month waiting period. The other dealership was more than happy to poach my business and gave me a very good trade in allowance. For those interested, the 360 delete means no front camera, and no camera button on the dash. So rear view camera only. Interestingly, the front camera and side mirror cameras ARE installed. The GM said he didn't believe Ford ever intended to come around later and offer to install the 360 camera system on these models, which I already assumed given the $650 credit, though it does seem perfectly possible from a technical/mechanical standpoint for a Ford Tech to hook it all up later.

Glad it's all over. This whole experience has taken a lot of the joy out of buying this car, but I am still super excited

im glad you finally got your ST! I’m picking mine up tomorrow. I’ll be sure to check off all the boxes. I hope there is more good news for others who are waiting,
