I"M SO EXCITED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy for you :) can you share with us what they did to push the release? If you dont mind
Of course,
I called today to inquire about the update that was done yesterday. I was told that the update was done and it wasn’t clear on if the parts were replaced or not. The service manager got with my sales person and they were able to get the stop sell lifted from our vehicle since both the interim software update and the replacement parts have been handled.

I’m sure there was more going on behind the scenes but that was it.

Is this on a new 2023 Explorer?

Does the stop sale apply to a pre-owned vehicle sold by a Ford dealer? On saturday, one Ford dealer told me they couldn't sell me a 2020 ST and, today, a different dealer told me that they could sell a 2020 ST? My brain is telling me that the 2nd dealer is lying and just trying to sell a car that they can't deliver to me.

From what the dealer told me, it’s only on new vehicles. Used vehicles should be fine. I’m not a ford employee, just going off of what I was told.

This article states that it applies to used vehicles as well (not sure if it's true or not): https://www.freep.com/story/money/c...rearview-camera-recall-stop-sale/70547408007/

"Dealers are not supposed to sell any vehicles, used or new, with an open recall, Ford confirmed. "

I’m from Canada, and my ST Line has been “In production” since mid May. The dealership kept giving me the run around, promising me it would arrive within days. This foolery went on until the end of July. After seeing this forum, I contacted them due to frustration for them to confirm there is a delay for the 360 camera issue. They said ETA is now September (but I don’t believe that for a second).

I see a lot of people saying they received an update and that parts are available/people are getting their Explorers. I am basically wondering if these people are the ones that have their 2023 Explorers sitting in Chicago? Or does your local dealership have them sitting in their lot?
Im from Canada so I feel there is always more of a delay when it comes to the US.
I feel like this forum gives me more answers/details then the dealership so any info you come across or any info you were told I would appreciate very much.

I was told that the solution is going to be available September. But as you say “ I don’t believe that for a minute” however it is encouraging to hear there is movement on this recall. I’m just wondering if these vehicles sitting waiting to be shipped are going to be fixed on location or are they planning on shipping and letting the service department take care of it on location???

so you were told there would a solution come September and not an actual fix come September?
They told me a parts by the end of august and ETA of arrival is early September (but of course, doubt that. They are feeding me any BS to keep the sale I feel)

Do you feel comfortable with giving the name of the dealer, my dealer wants to ask what was done to satisfy the recall he has 5 on premises that he wants to deliver. He asked if it was ok to have the name so he can call

I’m sure… I’m bracing for it to go past September. But we will see. I wish I liked a different vehicle!

Just spoke with my dealerships manager who said tomorrow ford is having a meeting with some execs on ways to financially compensate their customers. The manager I spoke with mentioned it being a pretty substantial amount. Pretty upset that it seems like no one knows what’s going on. My credit has been ran, payments due, I traded in my car so there are so many factors. I hope this all turns out for the best for us all. I have 0 faith in ford at this point.

The manager I spoke with mentioned it being and I quote again “a pretty substantial amount”. Pretty upset that it seems like no one knows what’s going on or they are just playing dumb. I’m about to lawyer up because I can’t really back out of this. My credit has been ran, payments due, I traded in my car so there are so many factors. Please keep us posting on this and if you receive any compensation. The only compensation I received so far is a $500 gas gift card and $1450 off (the 1450 off is only because a local dealership had that sale and I asked for them to match it so that amount isn’t really compensation for the misleading bullshit to get the sale)

I reserved a 2023 ST on 7/19. Dealer ordered 4/5, In production on 7/23, Ford Chat says it was completed on 7/23 but the tracker has not updated in 16 days. Original ETA was 8/2, now there is no ETA and a status update has been pending for a week. The dealership is 40 minutes from the factory. They say they are waiting on a transport.

My VIN says no recalls but if they do not have a fix for the camera, how can that be possible? Not sure if they are actually waiting for transport, or if they are waiting for camera fix and that is why its still saying in production on the tracker.

After 10 days of asking Ford Chat I was finally given an 800 number and some manager is supposedly calling me tomorrow. My dealership is pretty much worthless as they didn’t tell me about the online tracker or offer a vehicle visibility report. It’s frustrating because it could be here tomorrow or it could be here in 2 months according to some of the wait times I’ve seen online.

I might have to get a part time job at the Chicago Assembly Plant to see what the hell is going on over there!

Amazing that absolutely nobody can give a straight answer, my salesman told me "that the car is built and they are expecting it at the dealer between 8/8 and 8/14" .... looking it up on Ford's site it still says in "production" and I chatted with someone from Ford Chat earlier and she said that "the car is expected to be built and awaiting shipment by 8/14", however nobody will tell if the car can be sold if/when it arrives.

Cars are sitting and rotting in Chicago, dealers have units they can't sell and Ford Motor Corp can't and won't answer questions.

Hopefully this works itself out for you, I've never seen anything like this .... Shame on Ford.

I am in a similar position with my ST, ordered in March. At this point it looks like Ford is starting to move with shipping, with some US orders arriving in August and some scheduled for Canadian delivery in Sept.

The bigger question at this point, is who will be getting 360 cams and who is getting the camera delete since doing this work on tens of thousands of cars in short a timeframe is not feasible.

… and being short on carriers does not help.

Hopefully more people will post good news as this moves along… so far Ford has offered me an additional $1000 rebate on delivery.

What is to come is anyone’s guess… we have to rely on what we see happening with fellow owners.
