I’ve been lurking the past few weeks in this forum and decided to make an account. I purchase my explorer st line late May this year. It has been sitting in the lot due to the stop sale. I have made two payments without vehicle possession. I Can say I am finally relieved as today they updated the software on the 360 cameras and finally received delivery of the vehicle. I hope it provides hope for u all. (I know this is a ST forum and mine is a ST-line)

I reserved a 2023 ST on 7/19. Dealer ordered 4/5, In production on 7/23, Ford Chat says it was completed on 7/23 but the tracker has not updated in 16 days. Original ETA was 8/2, now there is no ETA and a status update has been pending for a week. The dealership is 40 minutes from the factory. They say they are waiting on a transport.

My VIN says no recalls but if they do not have a fix for the camera, how can that be possible? Not sure if they are actually waiting for transport, or if they are waiting for camera fix and that is why its still saying in production on the tracker.

After 10 days of asking Ford Chat I was finally given an 800 number and some manager is supposedly calling me tomorrow. My dealership is pretty much worthless as they didn’t tell me about the online tracker or offer a vehicle visibility report. It’s frustrating because it could be here tomorrow or it could be here in 2 months according to some of the wait times I’ve seen online.

I might have to get a part time job at the Chicago Assembly Plant to see what the hell is going on over there!
My dealer legit acts like I made

My dealer acts like they have no idea about the software update and are asking me for phone #s to dealerships who delivered cars because they want to know what they did. This is crazy to me how we know more than some dealers and how some dealers are taking the bull by the horns. The dealers need to all band together and force Ford into action.

Oh I have it already it’s been sitting at the dealers lot this whole time so I picked it up this evening at 7pm. Wife loves it.

I’m happy you received yours, our dealer told us they applied the update but Ford has told the dealership that they cannot deliver the vehicle since the interim fix is for those who already have the vehicle in their possession not for those waiting. They mentioned that we had to wait for the permanent fix.

Same. Seems like some dealers are willing to take the risk like in @Ninjatalon case. However I believe the official word was any vehicle that has not left the dealer lot is not allowed to until it receives the permanent fix.

My 8/2 ETA is now 9/10-9/16. I might just ask for my deposit back. I don't think I can wait another 5 weeks for a new ETA when my car doesn't arrive on 9/16. How does it take over 50 days to drive 40 minutes. What a nightmare.

It will be interesting to see how they roll it out, cars coming off the line I'd imagine would get the "upgrade" or a delete of option however there are a ton of cars sitting there (Lincolns too) unless they ship them and make the dealer do it ... I'd imagine they will be decent discounts but the dealers are pigs.

Time will tell.

Dealer just called to say we can pick up our ST today as soon as it goes thru cleanup prep. We are going down and talk with them about what "discounts" are available to offset the 3 months in delivery delay and payments we have made. Also, we do not know as of yet if this is a temporary or final fix of this 2023 ST. I will make some calls and find out what is going on and update the board when I know.

I hope you get to pick up your vehicle, our dealership essentially did the same thing and said the update will be applied. Then called 8 hours later saying "Ford said we cannot release the vehicle until the permanent fix is applied". Please let us know if you grab yours so we can maybe get a few dealerships on the same page.

If anyone who has been able to get theirs would be willing to share dealer information mine would love to talk to them. We can not get any solid answers from ford & he is just as frustrated as us. He has multiple cars just sitting on lot waiting to be delivered & is willing to do whatever necessary to get them off the lot. & I really want to take delivery of my ST

FYI

the recall for this took out several modules this morning on my 2021 Limited AWD Hybrid

I would steer clear of a Ford Dealer until they get this figured out!

We are picking up our ST this afternoon. If we get to drive off the lot with it, I will ask them what all they had to do in order to release it and report back with what was said and our dealership information.

I was shopping for an explorer not knowing about the stop sale. I found a nice red ST Line, did my research, went to the dealership, drove the car, made my offer and it was sold to me on 6-3-2023 never even mentioning the stop sale
We first found out after one month of waiting for the Ford pass points to post to my wife's account
After many visits to the dealership and getting many different answers ( lies) the dealership manager comes out and says yes we sold you the car but we can't report it as sold to Ford yet!
So I am in a 2023 that was manufactured in February and have had zero issues with the 360 cameras.
I also got 36 month no interest financing.
Even Ford credit can't fathom how they sold us this stop sale car!
Anyway we are happy and when the first oil change comes due I'm telling them that its on the dealership since I can't use passpoints that they won't allow me to obtain!

I’m in the same position. Purchased May 17th. My dealership is so vague. Would love to know if anyone is actually able to pickup their vehicle
