I talked to my salesman today. He said his salesmanager has been in Vegas all week at a managers meeting. His instructions supposedly from the dealership owner was to get answers about "the fix". The owner has a King Ranch for his wife that was due in late June. Check with your manager on Monday.

I saw on Google news this am that 10 cars were stolen. But the camera shot was what looked to be all explorers. Google 10 cars stolen from Chicago Ford mfg plant again, the press is referring to them as cars and they surely look like Explorers.

I saw the Chicago theft on the news as well. Those are people's brand new ride that they have been waiting on for months perhaps. How would you like to be that person? And also to be the person who has to break the news to said person?

Oh and how about the pending union negotiations? Will that motivate Ford?

Just read that story too, about stolen Explorers, my first thought was, ‘I wonder if mine was one of them’. This is all getting just way to crazy!!

My salesman said the new cars have a GPS so they should be trackable. He has access to it. The news also said it was all Lincolns that were stolen.

A co worker asked how I was liking my new explorer today. Told her about the stop sale and the cameras and how I don’t have it yet. She said omg when I bought my Honda a few weeks ago, dealership lot had cars with signs in them that they could not sell due to problems with 360 cameras. Hers did not have it so she drove a new one off the lot with a credit. Don’t know if this has anything to do with Ford, or if this is a common supplier.
Regarding the thefts and Chicago. Told my husband the other night I could see this happening in Chicago with the state of crime there. How lucky are we. . They need to move that inventory quick before it’s trashed

My story
Not an ST But your forum is the only one with decent information - it relates to 23s23
Location is Alberta Canada
Leased a 2021 explorer hybrid - loved it - no issues 50,000 km 30,000M Lease expires/expired July 19th
January 30 2023 ordered a 2023 Limited 2.3. Good price build price less $2000.00. Had bought 15 vehicles from this sales rep over 20 years, $10K deposit (purchasing interest rates too high).
Car built April 11, 2023
May 1 sales rep tells me eta May 20. I Sell/release 2021 explorer to daughter because lease purchase value is $10K to $15K under market.
20 days passenger in wife’s car - no problem.
Then ETA July, then eta Aug. July 19 have meeting with sales rep - this is the day car was ordered for - when old lease ends.
Sales rep and dealership have been great - loaned me a 2021 F150 for free until vehicle arrives.
I follow up eta every Wednesday morning. Never heard from Ford Corporate.
Wednesday, August 2, advised delay discount of $1000.00
Waiting in Limbo.
I don’t want it if it has had the 360 camera removed.
I Have lined up on replacements GMC Terrain, Hyundai Palisade, Nissan Pathfinder.
I love the looks of the Explorer, and the digital entry.
But am struggling with recalls, delays, depreciation of purchasing a 2023 in 4th quarter, absolute lack of communication from Ford Canada, already purchased brand new winter tires ready to go on.
Watching this forum twice a day.
Thanks H

Hi there!

Also from Canada. If you dont mind me asking, who informed you of the $1000.00 delay discount? Was there someone you had to contact at Corporate?

I first seen it on here from a Red Deer AB poster and then my sales rep told me when I did a Wednesday follow up - without prompt. So they must be getting some kind of Corporate incentives to keep us from just asking for our deposits back. Howard

Interesting. My sales rep has been radio silent regarding the whole Stop Sale/Recall situation (basically have been telling me week by week there is a new ETA date and no mention of the Recall), so I cant imagine them just willing to share this with me lol

Big freaking deal…a $1000 delay refund for a 2023 that is basically a model year old. Wonder if the roles were reversed and how much less you’d get on a trade? Again the day you drive off the lot you loose 10%. I’m ready to bail on ford.

1k is a joke, no doubt about it.
I would bail on Ford, but all rates are so much higher now. It would be much easier to leave the deal with a lateral move lined up, but that's not realistic right now with the insane rates.

So with the possible $1,000 delay rebates, do you think they are going to start shipping those already built out of Chicago soon? Sounds like maybe some concrete decisions are being made finally. My dealer is still telling me they expect to receive it between 8/24-8/30, but no updates whatsoever since 7/19 on the Ford dashboard showing in production.

My $1000 discount info came from my dealership, who got that from Ford corporate.

I get the feeling that current “updated” delivery dates are just placeholders. Nobody’s got a car that is currently shipping by the look of things. Mine is supposed to be here in 2 weeks, which is now a pipe dream because it takes at least a month to get to my dealership from Chicago.

There is also the matter of logistics when shipping 20,000+ delayed cars. As I told my dealer, would not be surprised if it arrived in December, or even 2024.

I would also laugh if 2024 models got delayed a bit due to 2023 overstock, not to mention 360 camera availability for the facelift (I would love to be the fly on the wall for that internal meeting).

This is really not boding well for Ford. I would have walked away from the brand entirely if not for my dealer, whom I feel really bad for as they are great guys/gals but are getting the shaft from Ford as much as customers are. You simply cannot operate like this for long.

Out of curiousity, has anyone here recently checked and seen their order actually shipped?

Can't take it. Tired of waiting so started looking at other vehicles more closely.
Wagoneer Series III - too damn expensive
Grand Cherokee Summit - ok, but not really a fan (should be Overland)
Kia Telluride - asking for a 5K market adjustment (makes it the same as my deal for the ST)
Genesis GV90 - not out yet
Just not a lot of 3 row suvs that I like in the price range. But I'm about on my last leg waiting for Ford. Want to stay under $75K OTD, but these damn manufacturers are making it hard.

Im also about to bail on Ford.
I just don’t like any other SUV like I like the Explorer and having a hard time settling on something else.
We gave our dealer the names and numbers of other dealers that are releasing Explorers to people, waiting to hear back, again.
I would feel a little better and less frustrated if I wasn’t the one calling them all the time and they picked up the phone to call me.

I'd love to, but I'm sure it is going to be $100K+. For the options I want I would need a '23 3.5TT Advanced+ Package. In the 24 they get a little too expensive.
