I'm hoping mine is right behind yours!
My dealer did say that the car was picked up from storage and brought back to the factory.
Sounds like they may be working on the fix. He's thinking it should ship like Mid Sept.

I mean how much longer can this go on for? This was ridiculous in June now it's just absurd.

Mine is 1-day after yours, ‘In Production’ 05/05/2023….and no movement since then except dealer told me it was built that day and then system shows it was placed in holding by the factory/Ford after May 5th. It’s all just completely unacceptable at this point, it’s a shame the communication is so poor from ford on this!

We reached out to our dealership’s corporate email and we were able to back out of our deal and even had our trade in balance carried over to another branch dealership. Today we drove off the lot with a brand new Subaru ascent and we couldn’t be happier. The Subaru dealer knew everything we went through with ford and was more than happy to find a car for us and ensured we were taken care of every step of the way. My family and I will never get a ford ever again and I hope you all get your vehicles soon!

I have some possible good news for those of us waiting on Explorers that have been stuck in Chicago.
I have been waiting on a dealer ordered ST that went into production on May 3rd. Since that time the order status page continued to list it as "In Production" and the "Last updated" date remained fixed.
I was also watching another ST that my dealer had ordered on the same day as mine, but that one went into production on 4/29. Like mine there had been no updates on the status.
The good news is that I noticed today that both tracking pages were updated on 8/22 and this second ST had it's status updated to "shipped"

I am hoping that this means they have started to apply the final fix to the Explorers that they have been holding.
Mr. Mark... do you mind sharing how you are able to track a dealer ordered vehicle without an order number? I tried and this is as far as I can get.
I did call corporate and they told me that the dealer ordered vehicle is supposed to be delivered about 9/7, but I have been getting that since mid May. Don't know if I can even trust corporate to know anything.

Both of them that I have been waiting for show "in production"

This is useless. May have to just get a Palisade or something. $10K less anyway. Ford is so full of shit. Will see what happens, but as I've said before I'm about done waiting.

Has anyone heard anything about ST’s sitting in dealership lots? I see a lot of people on this forum with preorders. I have already put a deposit on the one sitting on the dealership lot. Just wondering if the plan is to fix the preorders and move to ones sitting on lot. I haven’t heard anything from dealership

I have not financed mine yet. My sales guy doesn’t want to do anything till they can actually deliver the car. When I test drove it, I was told august but obviously that didn’t happen. Im hoping it’s not November. It’s crazy the different answers people are getting from their dealerships. I’m surprised you even proceeded with finances on something you can’t even take off the lot.

This is good news. Please keep up posted on your progress and any notifications you receive. So far, I think you're the first to reach this level in the game, lol.

Does you dealership see any additional info on their end? Estimated delivery date? Man I can't wait to see mine finally say built and shipped.

To be clear, the one that I saw with a status of "shipped" was a different vehicle that my dealer ordered at the same time as the one I am waiting on. Mine went into production about a week after this one so I am hoping to see the status change on mine soon. (assuming that they are processing them on a first in, first out basis). Up to this point, my dealer has not been willing to speculate on delivery time but I will reach out to them once I see a status change.

I just got off the phone with Ford Canada and they said there is no interim fix, that all of the vehicles will have to wait for the permanent fix that will come out in Q4.

In all fairness, my husband called once and I called another time. They told my husband they have no idea what he’s talking about and that there is no stop sale/recall (lmao). When I called, they told me mine is scheduled to get the fix on Aug 30 and shipped by Sept 4 (this is the same what my dealership told me too). No one seems to have a definitive answer and all seem to be blowing smoke just to get you off their case.
If someone in this forum just got theirs shipped, I would assume ours would follow suit (before Q4).

I guess we will all have top wait and see. At this point I will believe it when I see it.

So they have a fix for the ones in production, but no fix for the ones that are sitting on the dealer lots?
I do not have any hard evidence that they applied the fix to this particular vehicle.
As I expressed in my original post, I am hoping that the reason this vehicle went from "in production" since April to built and shipped is that they have started to apply the fix.
It does not make sense for them to have held all of these vehicles at the Chicago speedway only to then start shipping them incomplete now but anything is possible at this point.
Also, if they have started to receive parts for the fix it would make sense for them to use at least some of them to complete the ones they are holding in parallel with shipping parts to dealers so it would not be surprising to see some vehicles being completed before the parts arrive at dealers.

I just heard from my dealership in CA that September 18th my 2023 ST would be ready for delivery. Crossing my fingers that it’s not BS!

Is your car being built or is it sitting on the lot?
