This morning my car started making a thunk sound from the front. It doesn’t do it every time but it mainly does it when I’m slowing down and almost at a complete stop. Took it to the shop they said they couldn’t see anything wrong. Kind of hard to hear but I took a video from inside the car and you can hear it. If anyone knows what this could be please let me know. Thanks.

Are you hitting any uneven pavement? If so I would say sway bar end links or top strut bearing or strut. Seem to be common problems. If it’s when you hit the brakes possibly a loose caliper bolt? Just guessing here.

I don’t think it would be the pavement it’s the same places I drive everyday. The shop inspected the brakes and said everything looked good with them and didn’t notice anything else that would be causing it. So I’m at a bit of a loss trying to figure it out.

I have something similar going on. Ford couldn't find anything but an independent shop found that the tierod end links were worn and probably making the noise. I haven't had them replaced yet but it's a possibility.

I had that same clunking noise. The first time I had it at the dealership they replaced both struts.
Didn’t even make it a day and the clunking noise returned.
I finally got it back to the dealership and they stated the struts wasn’t the problem but the sway bar end links had some movement and they replaced both sides.
I picked my Explorer up this morning and so far no clunking.
Hopefully it will stay that way.

Good to hear about the struts, after reading through this forum that’s what I was leaning towards. I will look into the end links thanks.

I’m not sure that it is anything suspension related or the sway bar end links. It is occasionally making the popping sound even when I turn the car on and it’s in park. I installed the cvfab intercooler last week I’m not sure if that could have anything to do with it. I took it apart again this week to double check everything and didn’t see anything I missed.

Sway bar end links making noise is very common. I've had front sway bar end link issues on every Ford I've owned in the last 20 years. So replacing them won't hurt.

But if the noise is happening when not moving and while turning, it's obviously the strut hats. They are the only part of the suspension moving while turning AND stationary. Sherlock Holmes could learn a thing or two from my detective skills.

Here is a video of starting it up the pop is at about 18 seconds it’s in park before I put it into gear.

That pop happens in park and you aren't touching the steering wheel?

Does your ST have the window blind vanes in front of the radiator? If so , maybe when you installed the IC something didn't go back together right with those vanes and when they move it makes that sound hitting something or getting stuck perhaps.
