If you don’t mind me asking, what did your wife hate about it? Was it just too loud or was there a drone or something at the speeds she drove?

My wife hated my thermal 2.5 after I put SPD down pipes on. Just too loud for around town driving. She didn’t mind it before the down pipes with just the thermal. Got to the point she hated trading cars when I worked on hers.

I put a couple Vibrant resonators and it brought it down to the pre down pipe loudness.

These. You could also fit the larger canister type vibrant if you wanted it a little more quite than these. They took the higher annoying frequencies from the DPs away but kept the other goodness imo.

One side about 5” from the down pipe. Other side slid into the front side of the Thermal dual resonator. The vibrant were a great slip fit. I put 4slits in the end of the vibrants with a cut-off wheel and clamped half on the slits and half off. Come spring I may weld them if I like them. Totally sturdy with no leaks now though so I may never get around to it.

The black pipe is a DP, I had them ceramic coated for heat rejection.

Very little difference down low. When I would just normally accelerate like half pedal, it would start to get annoying above 2000-2500 with higher frequencies, like ricer-ish sound if that makes sense. Sounded like I was racing with normal driving. What I love about the Thermal is a lot of the sound is lower frequencies. It doesn’t sound like your typical V6. The DPs seemed to bring that annoying v6 sound into play. Still sounds awesome at WOT
