Fuel Inlet Issue

Need some advice for possible fuel inlet issue. Check engine light came on about a week ago and FordPass indicated it was an emissions issue and recommended checking the the fuel inlet. It explains that the typical fix is to put the fuel funnel in and out of the fuel inlet a few times. I did this and I cleared the code with a scanner. Today, the light came back on and FordPass is indicating the same issue. Anyone have a possible resolution to this issue?

Check valve at fuel inlet is fluttering or not maintaining seal.
Which sets off dtcs
Like aloose gas cap
Look at the seal see if it's damaged

Its the evap valve thing i got it too code p0456 i have the part in my car i havent gotten around to replacing it.

Yes, thank you. I reviewed that thread and it seems that was for a different code though.

its not you will get both codes eventually one is for small evap leak the other is for evap leak

Okay, so even FordPass indicates that this is an emissions issue. I am at 79K miles and ask dealer to fix under the 80k emissions warranty. This dealer has come through for me before, but told me today that I had to pay out pocket, about $600. I said no thanks.

Yeah it’s Evap purge valve, did it myself. A bit of a pain but possible. Fix the code and issue.

Yeah it’s Evap purge valve, did it myself. A bit of a pain but possible. Fix the code and issue.
I just replaced this myself on Tuesday. I cleared the code and all is well. Between advice on here and YouTube, I struggled a bit, but got it done. I replaced with the best one Napa has and the design of the replacement seems better than OEM. If it does go bad again, the Napa brand will be easier to remove.

To help it not go bad again. I read that when the pump clicks off, then do not add any more or it can make this happen. Not sure how true it is and it's always tempting to make the amount even or get a little more in but from what I'm told this is bad thing to do. So now I'm training myself to take it out when it clicks. Anyhow Good Luck!

Thank you Dale, I was just tracking down Dave's post some more and realized I wasn't looking at the same thing that he fixed. I truly think i've got a bunged up capless filler neck. I'm going to double check and clear the codes again. (This is great video btw)

That YouTube video will help some, but won't get the job done as he skips the hardest part. Do not take the strut brace off, it will not be in the way. The green clip in the back will be nearly impossible to remove while on the vehicle, therefore it is much easier to disconnect another hose that's much easier to disconnect towards the right and closer to you. Pull the whole assembly out as one. I did have an issue with getting the tube on the right out from its hold down, but squeezed the plastic clip enough so the I could get it out. Someone on here may know how to open this clip a better way. Do an 'Evap Purge Valve' search on here and on YouTube (be specific to 2020-2024 ST). I combined all great information to see the light. Yes, I also tried cleaning my capless fuel filler neck several times and cleared the CEL several times. It came back on the next time the ST was driven.
