some button presses seem to take a second... some 3-4 seconds before I see action.

I did mine this morning. Jailbreak on the first try and everything worked like a charm! Whoever did this is a damn wizard.

They've said it's still got some tuning for the 'responsiveness'. The trade off for the screen I don't mind it being a little slow. S3 isn't the snappiest UI before any of this lol.

Am trying an Expinsig Carplay/AA wireless dongle (link not given because product "unavailable" on Amazon). To my surprise, it is noticeably less laggy than my other CP-only dongles. Also does not crash. Bottomline, if your older carplay dongle is laggy, you might want to try something else. I have some others to test that I got from the Amazon review program.

Got the latest Beta set up. Only took three tries to jailbreak

Question - does the map (whether it's Google or Waze) always take up at least half the screen? Just wondering, not a complaint or anything.
where/how are you getting those temp and pressure stats?

Main thing I have noticed is it seems the CPU takes a snooze in a low powered state when not doing anything. First touch action is a noticeable delay. Once it "wakes up", its laggy but consistent and totally usable. It is just that initial large delay when you try to do something after not touching the screen for awhile. This is my experience with a wireless adapter.

Just want to thank the team who did this and the support from this site. I did the mod yesterday and this takes the win for one of the best mods to do. Loving the new screen real estate.

After testing some 8 or 9 Carplay wireless dongles and wired over the past 2 weeks, it is clear to me that some are faster than others. Interestingly, some dongles are faster and less laggy than wired Carplay with my iPhone 14ProMax. My favorite is still Expinsig dongle but unfortunately it says it is not available (Amazon). On my setup, most of the dongles will disconnect randomly, which I haven't figured out why. Overall, 2024+ wireless Carplay dongles seem faster and less laggy than older models.

Here's a clip demonstrating the low lag from touches using my Expinsig wireless Carplay dongle. Not only is it responsive but it doesn't disconnect for me either.

Highly recommend this one https://a.co/d/cUHtLRU
It’s faster than my old wireless adapter and even faster than wired. Plus, it has YouTube Netflix and you can download any app. I’ve only had it for 24 hours now so I’m still testing it out but so far it’s great.

I was wondering how an AI box would perform with this mod. On one hand I thought it might cause even more lag because it's running a full version of Android and not Android Auto. On the other hand, the adapter is the device doing the heavy lifting so maybe it takes some of the stress and lag out Sync3's performance?
