Mom had one, she was from Eastern Kentucky. Tools, batteries, shoelaces, a little bit of everything. She also had a Button Jar. Never threw away a button. My garage workbench is my "Junk Drawer". LOL

My wife has 3 junk drawers in the kitchen.
I have 1 in the garage also.

I grew up in Michigan and everyone had a "junk drawer". So, it's not necessarily only something from the south. Any sort of carbonated drink was a "pop" and any convenience store was a "party store". I still use the term party store, and everyone looks at me funny...and I've lived in 10 different states over my life!

My wife has 3 junk drawers in the kitchen.
I have 1 in the garage also.

We have junk drawers here in Ontario. Usually a pair of pliers, take out menus, elastic bands, twine, tape measure and such.
