I have noticed that the car makes a grinding noise while driving.sounds like it’s coming from the rear somewhere. Sounds like gears meshing or like when older cars power steering goes out, only in the rear.
Sometimes on partial throttle or when letting off throttle. No noise at idle or harder acceleration. Originally I thought it would be exhaust rattle under a certain residence. Driving it today it seems louder and not at all like exhaust/shield rattle.
Any ideas?

I would check to see if the rear axle bolt broke. If it did I would call the dealer to pick it up.

Could also be something simple like worn out tires.

Tires were new in October and barely have any wear. Possibly something rubbing on inside I can t see. Will investigate further…

I would think I would fee that in the way it drives. It’s an intermittent sound (or gets drowned out by the fake engine noise and I don’t hear it anymore).

Wheel alignment resolved mine.
You could feel and hear with light accelerator feathering.
Toe was off ft and rear.

I had a rattle in the right rear. Turned out to be contact between the exhaust hangar and the bushing.
