Thank you for your appreciation and good call on the 20” wheels maybe being a possibility. With how tight things seem with the 21” wheels I didn’t see how the 20” wheels would be an option, but I suppose that’s possible since the GT500 comes with 20” wheels so the rotors/calipers could fit. Someone is welcome to figure out that part along with what spacers are needed to make that work. I’m sure aftermarket 20” wheels would have a better shot of fitting well too.
Yes, you can definitely make 20s work but spoke clearance is essential.

You should seriously consider the racing brake rear brake upgrade. With the huge GT500 brakes up front and the factory street pack rears your brake system is going to be unbalanced.
I’ve been saying this in my FB group since even the GT350 front “kits” got popular…nobody wants to hear it though….even though I tested the shit out of the front only Racing Brake kits when they first came out. It didn’t feel right again until their rear kits came out.

Super forged makes great stuff! Are you going to paint calipers red?

Also, Tony is working on a Dark Horse rear brake upgrade.
Isn't the dark horse brakes just GT350 brakes? That was the one complaint about the recent Mach 1's, they got all the suspension bits and coolers of the GT 350 but they only got PP1 brakes. The dark horse solved that.

The smart thing would be to make a bracket to reuse the stock street pack rear calipers just like the racing brake kit, but utilize the GT 350 rear rotors instead of the custom racing brake rotors. That's why the racing brake kit is 1700, because of the custom rotors.

I looked up the specs on the 350 rear rotors vs the racing brake rotors, they both are 28 mm thick on the outer ring that actually gets clamped by the pads. The offset might be a little different. If racing brake would sell just the bracket, we could source our own rotors, but they don't. The only way to get the brackets is to buy the whole kit.

BTW, a pair of 350 rotors are $820 new from LMR, far less than $1700

No the Dark Horse brakes are completely new, although you can get the same brakes on the S650 GT also. The Dark Horse brakes have a built-in electronic parking brake, GT350’s did not. That is why there is an opportunity to retrofit them into our STs.

Ok, I did not know that. After further research, the gt350 rotors are not viable with the rear ST calipers. The inner diameter of the racing brake rotors are 237 mm vs 276 mm for the 350 rotors, basically the pads would overhang the rotor surface and possibly hit the hat itself. I then considered the front PP1 rotors as they are also 380mm outer diameter and 237 inner just like the racing brake, but are 34 mm thick vs 28 for RB rotors so those won't work either.

What size is the rear dark horse brakes? The 350 rears are 15" or 380mm, same as the RB's

The PP1 brakes wouldn’t have worked mounting wise either. The rear Dark Horse are huge! They looked bigger then the GT350’s but a quick google search showed they were only 14 IN rear rotors with pretty nice sized 4-piston calipers IMG_2653.jpeg

I did a quick google search also and came up with 13.9". Could the dark horse rears be the same as the GT500 rears? The 500 had 16.5 F but went down in size to 13.9 R where as the 350 had 15.5 F and 15 R. Also the 500 had an electric parking brake and it was the only S550 to get an E parking brake

No they are not the same. They are mounted differently and the calipers look a lot larger on the DH.

This setup uses 2020-2023 GT500 calipers and rotors.

Edit: Thank you to @2020FordRaptor for the clarification. This setups uses 2020-2022 GT500 calipers and rotors.

They never made a 2023 GT500. 2022 was the last year.

Oh, interesting. I didn’t realize they discontinued the GT500 a year earlier than the rest of the S550 Mustangs.

IIRC the were only going to make them for 20 and 21, but because of the chip shortage, they extended them into 22. They did the same thing with the latest mach 1. Originally the Mach was going to be 21 and 22, but it got extended into 23. There were people who ordered a mach and because production was delayed to the point that orders for 21's had to be updated into 22's and 22's into 23's. That's probably why the made them an extra year.
