For those opting to go with the aluminum spacer, do you do much towing? Although aluminum would be definitely fine for just the weight of the vehicle, I worry about the added stress at the rear especially from the towing load.
I'm curious as well. I will be using my ST (Whenever I finally pull the trigger) to pull a pontoon boat. Anyone JUST put spacers on the factory wheels but no lowering springs? Baby steps to get to the final look.

I just received a response from Bora and they said 150lb torque is fine.

Just installed my spacers and it looks so much better. I think it handles better too but hard to tell. I saw someone posted a question about how to keep the front rotors from spinning while torquing so I figured I would share what I did. Didn’t have anyone to hold the break so I had to improvise with a stubby screw driver. Worked perfectly. Hope this helps.

You’re adding about 3” track width. Handling will definitely increase slightly.

RE: Towing with H&R Springs, Steeda Sway bar, and BORA 1.25" Spacers all around. I've pulled my Can-Am Spyder in a 7h x 7w x 12l v-nosed Pace American trailer with no ill effects (well, fuel mileage took a hit). STwTrailerFrnt.jpg

Thanks. I will still keep to the right side of the road and let the Porches, Mercedes, and BMWs fly by. It will still be a lot of fun though.

Really? So 150 is no issue for them? I just realized this that it says 140 on paperwork and to call. So they had no reservations with 150?

What size did you go with front and back? Any shaving studs?

I want to pull the trigger on these spacers but hear mixed Reviews on adding them. I guess what’s the real cons on doing this. Thanks for the help. Love the forums.

In reality, you never want to add spacers. It’s a band-aid solution to not buying proper rims.
No mechanic (well any good one) would recommend spacers, ever. It puts suspension components under stress at different angles that they are designed for. Even if it’s a small change.

That being said, their probably of failing is small but when it does (and it definitely happens) will be probably quite spectacular lol. If you tow anything, you’d be a complete fool to run spacers, especially aluminum ones. You are creating a fulcrum point on the weakest part and that weaker part is the one that’s going to fail.
I’ve been in the auto industry a long time, have seen lots of spacers fail, even really good ones. Enough to never putting them in any vehicle I own.

It’s a “at your own risk” type thing. They risk is pretty small but it’s still there.

I've had spacers on multiple vehicles including 2.5" on Jeep Wrangler Unltd., 2.5" on Jeep GC Trailhawk, and now 1.25" and 0.75" on my ST. I think TheGov't is probably speaking the truth but I've only had good experience with spacers going off-road and regular towing. No issues whatsoever. Maybe if i owned the vehicles longer than 3 years things would have been different but I abused them quite a bit during the years i did own them.

The American in me said buy the Bora Spacers !!! :devilish: But the Canadian in me said sell the spacers and order rims instead. :cautious:
