To me it would be all about the dollars involved. If you’re getting a great deal on the new and the buyback, I would strongly consider it. It will be all new. If they aren’t doing you any favors, take the free motor, and maybe turbos and keep yours. Worst case you have a new motor when you sell it.

I'm hoping mine might go that way..
I bough this thing what, 2 weeks ago?
cameras recall was not done..
trans cooler is leaking, which wouldn't bother me except for the lack of a dipstick / fill tube...
and now the engine has a soft knock at low revs when under light acceleration with the engine not warmed up..

I had a 96' Ranger with a 4.0 ltr. that Ford needed to warranty replace the engine at around 10K miles. I had a 2016 Fusion Titanium with the 2.0 ltr. turbo that also had to have its engine warranty replaced by Ford at around 28K miles. I have also had Ford buyback a 2012 Focus for so many issues, it was beyond rediculous. Last but not least, I bought (2) 2012 Focus's at nearly the same time. The 2nd one was having more issues than the one Ford bought back but Ford refused to buy it back. I won a lemon law case against Ford and they lost their a$$ on the whole deal.

Why I still buy Ford is a mystery.. I owe Ford nothing.
