Just not sure the 2.5 would be much quieter pulling from the curb and start n stop kinda driving. At regular speed and freeway it’s great just hat 1st thru 5
Perception is always one's reality, but I surely haven't felt that my 2.5" system is obnoxious at any speed and in any way. I guess it's a little loud, when accelerating under an over pass, but always in what I considered a good way.

Thanks I reached out to him
Mike good to hear from you. "Exhaustfather" here LOL.

Yes, I was the development car for the AWE 3" exhaust. It's too loud! Just like Thermal. Lots of people don't realize drone is different than volume. Thermal and AWE don't drone but boy are they loud. Way louder than many desire on an SUV.

I added 2 Vibrant 1142 canister resonators
https://a.co/d/8zxxcYz after the downpipes. We welded into the mids where they would fit. It's tight around the bend on the pass side but it worked. Drivers side is good.

It's still a bit loud but has cleaned it up the sound quite a bit. I think the only solution to get it quieter would be to add more mufflers or completely redesign. Not worth it.

Happy to answer any more questions

Just remember the people pushing these exhausts on Facebook will tell you they aren't loud and that's a lie.

Yeah the 3 it’s really loud. It’s quiet when off the pedal and sounds great when your on it but it’s loud I’d be willing to trade my 3 inch for a 2.5 or it will be for sale soon. Has less than 50 miles on it and I powder coated the tips black and they look awesome.

FWIW, my 2.5 Thermal sounded great. Right up until I put down pipes on it. A tad annoying when just driving light to light. I’ve got a couple Vibrant 2.5” resonators I’m hoping to add soon. Hoping it takes it back down a notch.

I’m interested in your opinion of how much difference it makes I’m not sure it will help my 3” enough.

I will let you know when I get them on. I’ve used them before on a V8 so I’m hopeful they sound good.

Interesting comments and opinions in this thread. I have the AWE 3" system on mine with stock down pipes and yes, its loud but I love it. I wanted to be able to hear my car and this delivered. I have also done two 1000 mile + road trips with my family and no one complained a bit. And I live with complainers! On both trips I had someone sitting in the 3rd row seat the entire trip and made sure to ask them about the noise and no complaints.

I would say to anyone who thinks this is too loud that you should put the stock exhaust back on and replace the mufflers at the rear. I did that (with Paradox Hot Tamales) and it sounded great when standing behind the car but was way too quiet inside for my tastes unless you were really getting on it.

Freeway and cruising speeds are awesome as well as idle but 2000-3000 rpm when going light to light are really loud with thermal 3. if I'm doing 90+ I expect the loud and it sounds great! lol think im going to try to add vibrant ultra quiets to tame the tone a bit more when going in town driving. if I hate it they will be for sale lol.
