Long story short, hit a deer and caused minor damage. Auto insurance will replace front grill and side mirror. If there are other things that need to be fixed, how do I go about getting that included?

I've hit 2 over the years and had my preferred body shop fix it. I think insurance companies allow the shops to account for unseen damages.

Take to good body shop and they will report all damage to insurance. Hidden and visible

It's completely common for body shops or DIY'ers to have what are called "add ons" to claims as work begins and other things are found to be damaged from the incident. Body shops reach out to your insurance company and get it taken care of. Most of the time you aren't even made aware of it.
