Its not conjecture. There is more than enough evidence across A LOT of different platforms that custom tunes make more power than canned tunes.
A tune that has to work on 100% of the vehicles everywhere is going to be way more toned down than a custom tune so that it doesnt cause issues that come back on the tuner.
I dont see any tuners that make canned tunes for high altitude, low altitude, etc... most are making a canned 91 or 93 octane tune and sending it out. A "custom" tune will generally ALWAYS make more power, but not necessarily safer as you are right, the more power you make the harder it is on components designed for x+10%(or whatever). And im not even discussing any form of risk really.

LMS isn’t a bad tune, but it is a one size fits all scenario.
Without tuners like ZFG doing logging with customers like me we would not know about the low fill, or the oil starvation risk if you are launching hard.

Too clarify, yes ZFG does start with basically the same "baseline" file for each customer assuming the same Ford base Strategy, then logs, and tweaks from there. Yes, additional things can be tweaked, like I don't mind AS/S so it is on in my tunes. I also like a more relaxed throttle in Normal. All things that can be changed. Like @UNBROKEN honestly, I am at a TON of logs. We did A LOT of work on shifting in Sport Mode. Also, these trans seem to be REAL picky, and each one is a little different. A good Sport trans strategy for one, is not always perfect for another.

Everyone starts with a base file of some sort. For ZFG that’s just a starting point and you log and dial in your tune for your car...that’s the definition of a custom tune. For some...the base file is what you get and nothing else.

Cause it is Custom. End results are going to be similar power wise, but without logging on your specific vehicle you don't know for sure. With logging you know how YOUR car is responding to the tune, not 1-2 on a dyno several months before.
This I’m excited about. Certainly don’t plan to bombard with logs but it’s nice to know ZFG is willing to review/tweak any sent across. Key differentiator and why I’m waiting (impatiently lol).

More than you think especially with electronically controlled transmission and turbo cars in general. Plus tuning to how the customer wants the car to feel not what I think is best.
I erased the darn run messing with the draggy today like a moron as i had a bunch of bogus runs on there from driving down the road with the draggy turned on and running or id be glad to... I was driving and messing with it, should have just stopped. Now i know why they say don't text and drive! LOL
I can tell you i launched harder before and went 4.30s due to spinning so bad. The rear kicked out a bit actually... So that run i only launched at low 2000s rpm range and it spun just a little then took off and went faster then when i stalled it up to close to 3k. 8th mile was just under 89mph and 1/4 mile was just under 111mph. Around 3/4 tank fuel.
