Is the Ford Tune noticable?

Seems to be mixed reviews on the ford tune, my wife's explorer is brand new and I would like to keep my warranty and be able run any fuel. How noticable is the Ford performance tune? Thanks for any input!

This has literally been beat to death here. If a person can’t make up their mind at this point they never will.

Had it for 2 days now, a lot more bottom end and better shifting and pedal feel

Almost 500 miles on my tune, it's no ZFG tune but I love the improved throttle response and shifitng. The power band definately starts a lot lower and it's actually smoother acceleration than my stock tune.

I don't believe there are mixed reviews from people that have installed the tune. Everyone that has installed the tune seems to really like it.

The debate is over which is better: FP or (insert other tuner here)?
Automatic or manual?
coke or pepsi?

They're all the same endless argument as far as I am concerned.

I would get the FP tune in a heartbeat, but my wife drives the Explorer 99% of the time and she doesn't want it, so why waste the money on ANY tune. I will likely tune my 3.5 F-150 though

I would install it but don't want the auto-parking brake feature installed as part of the package.

I hear you but it’s truly not an issue at all. I don’t even notice it anymore.

Not sure if anyone has but I know that’s technically the minimum octane allowed so shouldn’t be any issues doing so.

When the ford tune is installed is it just one tune that renders the drive modes useless? Or does it just impact sport mode?

In a perfect word I would like a tune that increases sport mode, don't care if it takes 93 to run decent. But I want it to revert to normal for better MPG as this is my wife's car and she couldn't give a shit about a tune. Does such a thing exist?

I've had 2 diesel trucks and they have been tuned and deleted. Once the tune was installed it was as simple as hitting an arrow on the programer to change between tunes. This was before "drive modes" it would be awesome if the individual drive modes could change to tbe performance tune and back to stock or a better MPG tune.

I don’t have the tune yet but all modes should still be available. Just like current factory tune, each mode has its own characteristics. I heard it does make normal mode even more aggressive. Which is a good thing imo. But I would imagine eco mode is still good for casual driving and going for best mpgs.

Between the tuning reflash and bump of power, yes, it is noticeable. We actually have them on sale for $599 (ends in a few hours... but I can get this done for you tomorrow, too, if you're interested).

They've been gathering more and more popularity, especially for those looking to go on a "safer" route as the Ford Performance tune can be carried with proper install.

This will void your 5year/60000 power train warranty and with the rear bolt shear problem already think I’ll pass on it for now

To clarify, that is not true as long as the tune is not the cause. Then you still have the Powertrain warranty.this is what Eric said from FP chat. if the cause was determined not to be from the tune, then your 5 / 60 would still be vaid

Yes I agree you the customer will have to prove this and when you add more torque it puts more strain on transmission driveline and rear differential not here to argue just letting people know the complete warranty
