Key Phob Battery

I got a message that the key phob battery was low. I couldn’t find them anywhere so I ordered a couple from Amazon. Changed the battery but still getting the message. Put the second battery in and “still” getting the message! Could there be something wrong or maybe the batteries I bought were bad?

For me it was bad batteries I got on Amazon, I bought Duracell ones and fixed the problem.
On a similar note I had the same issue in my Z, but that was due to one of the sensors going bad.

I will only use Duracell or Energizer batteries.

Make sure you have them oriented correctly. If they are in upside-down, the fob will not work.

You might have to stick the key fob in the slot that is made if your fob battery is completely dead to " reset the link" if you will. I believe on the explorers its under forward cup holder pad. Just stick it in there and then turn the car on and then remove it.

Not saying this will for sure fix the issue 100% but i know it has helped others before on other fords.....

That’s obvious! It starts and displays the message. If the battery was upside down it wouldn’t work at all. I did buy Duracell but they may be bad. I’ll have to get some others.

I just changed the battery on mine the other day. Got the message, swapped the battery. message eliminated. Thankfully there was no need for me to reset.

Not the two I went to! Tried Walmart, Target, CVS and Advanced Auto. I’m going to try the Interstate store later.

If you have a ace Hardware check there. Ace stores are pretty good.
