Loss Of Power But No Codes

I went to drop my daughter at dance last night and I had no get up and go. I can drive it ok but it's way down on power! I first thought the charge pipe had blown off again because that's what it feels like but that's not the problem. It's like there is no boost. But the pipes are all tight. I plugged in the scanner and there are no codes. It's in the shop today for an alignment so I can't check anything. Any ideas why it would be acting that way?

Check every pressurized connection from turbos to throttle body.

I checked them quick last night but I was just reading a thread about "Limp Mode" and I'm going to check each one more closely once I get it back from the alignment shop. Thanks for the heads up!

Don’t just look at them. Put your hands on every connection…feel all the way around.

There are no loose connections. I felt around all the connections, including the BOV, and there are no leaks. It does build some boost because I can hear the BOV when I let off the throttle. I'm going to have to dig a little deeper into this. I've read that resetting the PCM may help, it could be the throttlebody or it could be the transmission causing it.

I’m wondering if it’s from the problem with the resonator. Can’t see how a split in the outer shell would affect it though.

It's not the resonator. Your car has gone into limp mode for some reason. They do this to prevent any further damage. I would say check for transmission codes. A simple scan tool will not see them. You need a good scanner or Forscan. Another thing that happens is the throttle position gets lost. You probably need to take it in. Why it's in limp mode can be hard to diagnose.

That's not what I wanted to hear! I'm going to use FORScan to check for codes this afternoon. I'm hoping to get some information about what is going on.

This sounds similar to an issue I had with mine early on. It was the throttle body. On mine though the engine light did come on and there were some codes.

Nothing with Forscan except a couple codes for the camera and proximity sensors. Cleared everything but it’s still the same. Gonna try returning to stock and reloading the tune next. If that doesn’t work I’ll have to take it in. I read in another thread where someone else had this problem and they did a datalog and sent it to Adam. He was able to see something that told him it was bad gas. I did just start using 93 but it’s at a Mobil station. I guess anyone can get a bad shipment though.

I doubt it's bad gas. You can bet they will charge you to look at your datalog! I wouldn't be reseting shit before you bring it in. There may be codes stored that you can't see.

Returning to stock and reloading the tune did the trick. I don't know what caused the issue though. Now I just have to wait and see if it comes back.

How long have had the tune?
Does it get updates?

I was tuned about a month after purchasing the vehicle. The only reason for updating would be if you added something that would increase Hp like downpipes or turbos. There is a fee for updating the tune. I installed my mods before getting the tune.

No tune “goes bad”…reloading it probably just cleared and reset whatever the computer was seeing. Once a tune is loaded…it’s loaded.

^^^ THIS ^^^ It may have been a small hardware hiccup that triggered everything and you reloading the tune cleared everything up. You can probably reload your custom tune and all will be fine.
