I’m thinking I should post this in the Good Clean Jokes and Humor thread! I stopped by the dealership today and they told me the PCM may have got too hot and failed because of the cover I have on it! I couldn’t help but laugh.

Could be, however dealer can flag your vin..so the next place gets a "vowel"
I am still laughing the decorative pcm cover made pcm to hot..
Never mind the under hood Temps are insanely hot ,
Either way.
Great it's all good
Wonder what they would have said with the ford accessories performance tune had been in there?

Maybe instead of fancy PCM covers, the aftermarket guys should make a PCM cooling fan!

Picked up the vehicle a little while ago after chatting with the service manager. They could not find any issues that may have caused the PCM to fail. He talked to me about my mods, especially the stereo. He thinks they did a great job concealing everything. Took them a minute to find the amps. He said they wouldn’t give me any trouble because of the mods. Seemed pretty cool. Vehicle drives normal so I’m happy! Must have just been an electronic component in the PCM that failed.

great news she is all back and good to go
you better than me
i would have asked...why are you looking at my stereo upgrades and searching for amps? unless you tied your power to the PCM to run the amplifiers ??/:):eek:
imo the pcm has no bearing on the stereo and conversely the stereo has nothing to do with the pcm.
maybe pcm was jealous of the cooling on the amps because they are in the cabin:love::love::love:

my dealer has spoiled us
they are forscan knowledgeable and use it, treat everyone like a valued family member, vice the creepy uncle we all have.

Seems to be ok. Most recent check had about a teaspoon and it was clean. I guess the last one had condensation in it from the coooler weather.

Guess they like grasping at straws! no way that cover did anything but make the PCM look nice!

With that fantastic dealership logic, do hoods make our engines overheat! It’s covering up the engine after all.
