My ST just died while driving and I need a tow. First guy showed up with a regular tow truck and I refused to let him tow it even though he insisted it would be fine to tow it from the rear. I called AAA and explained so they are sending another company with a flatbed. Can they just put the vehicle in neutral to pull it up on the flatbed or do I have to disconnect the transmission using the switch in the center console?

Use the switch so it can be put into neutral.

That’s what I thought. I just have to find something to flip the switch with. I usually have a small tool box in the back but I took it out the other day and haven’t put it back. Hopefully the driver has something. I’ve read it can be a bitch to flip that switch to! Thanks for the fast reply!

I've seen people use the key from your fob.
I’ll try that. Hopefully it moves easily!

I did check the book. Couldn’t put it in neutral because the vehicle was completely dead. AAA wasn’t the problem, it was the idiot that came out the first time. AAA said they specified a flatbed. Second guy was really good. Got it loaded ok.

Did the key work to put it in neutral?
No, we used a screwdriver. I was afraid it was going to break! It wasn’t that hard to switch with the screwdriver though.
