New 2025 Ford Explorer ST

I ordered the new Explorer St in the Vapor Blue Metallic color. I did not like the Gun Metal Gray Rims. I had the rims powder coated with a Gloss Black Wet finish . The hood and roof were painted with a Gloss Black finish.

Looks awesome! I have the same wheels on my Explorer, the car is black and was thinking about having them done up in black as well. If you don't mind me asking how did you go about having them done? Meaning did you have to take them to a tire shop to have the tires taken off then to a powder coating shop? Also ball park on powder coat cost?

Yes, I had the rims professionally done at a company that does power coating. I removed the wheels and rims myself . I had to put the car on Jack stands while the rims were being powder coated. The process took approximately 2 weeks to be completed.

Yes, I had a tire shop remove the wheels and the Powder Coating Company did the rims.. I planned the process and shopped around when I ordered the car. I knew I did not like gun metal colored rims. I was happy with the shopping around and planning. I may have a $1000.00 in the project.
